Katie Price is said to have shown off a 'new cat' on social media recently

Katie Price showed off her new cat to her followers on social media just days after she was made a financial offer by a charity to stop acquiring animals.

The former glamour model, 45, took to Instagram recently to share a photo of a sphynx cat perched on the keyboard of a laptop. The device itself was seen on a kitchen counter in the photo. She teased in the caption that accompanied the photo that she had been hoping to work, writing on the platform: "Suppose[d] to be work time." The feline has been introduced into Katie's family at some point.

The price of a sphynx cat can range depending on the breeder and availability as they are quite rare, though the range is usually between £1,000 to £2,000. It comes following an apparent offer from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) just last week. The animal rights charity shared details of a letter that it has addressed to Katie, which urged her to stop getting animals.

PETA offered her £5,000 and said that she would get the money if she signs a legal agreement promising never to acquire another animal. A spokesperson for the charity accused her of "consistently harming" animals in her care.

At least seven of Katie's pets have died, most recently her German Shepherd Blade, who was struck by a car. She later claimed that he was killed on purpose in a sick "attack against her". Just seven months prior to the incident, her other dog Sharon was also knocked down by a car and killed in the same place Blade was hit. Three years earlier, her French Bulldog, Rolo, reportedly died at her home after suffocating to death after becoming trapped in an armchair. The star had purchased the adorable pooch in a bid to cheer Princess, then 13, up after her dog Sparkle was killed after being hit by a car.

Her other dog, Bear, is believed to have had several near-death experiences on the same road but was found by a policeman. Following an encounter with another dog in April 2019, Katie rehomed Bear due to him running away and biting another dog.

Katie's German Shephard, Queenie, was also killed during what she claimed to be a hit-and-run incident caused by a "heartless delivery driver". Her Pomeranian pooch, Sharon, was also run over after escaping onto the nearby A24. She faced a devastating blow when one of her unnamed horses escaped from her fields and escaped and suffered a similar fate on the busy road. Meanwhile, her Chameleon, Marvin, died after reportedly suffering from a broken heart after he remained at Mucky Mansion when her son Junior moved in with her ex-husband, Peter Andre.

She reportedly gave away puppy Tank last month because he "doesn't look cute" on social media. She's said to have replaced him with a sphynx kitten, potentially the one in her recent post.

Elisa Allen, who is vice president of UK programmes and operations at PETA, wrote in the letter to Katie, which was shared by the charity just days ago: "While your intentions may be good, the ever-growing number of animals who have either died under your supervision or been given away is impossible to ignore, and people are rightly concerned."

The spokesperson continued by furthering commenting to the reality TV star: "Whatever you may offer as reasons for their suffering, relinquishment, or demise, the fact is that you are consistently harming these sensitive, sentient individuals, and I hope you agree that this is a solution."

Additionally, the letter went on to state that if Katie signed the agreement, following the proposal by PETA, that she would be applauded by her fans. It added that it would show that she intends to act in the best interests of animals.
