Mark Wright admits to lying to wife Michelle Keegan on Valentine's Day
Mark Wright has admitted he lied to his wife Michelle Keegan on Valentine's Day, two years after they were married.
The TOWIE alum, 37 and Netflix star, 36, got hitched in 2015, but in 2017, Mark bent the truth when he claimed he'd cooked a romantic meal for the couple- when he'd secretly got it from a restaurant.
Opening up about the fib, he told his Heart FM fans he wanted to impress the Fool Me Once star after she cooked him an "amazing" rack of lamb for their first Valentine's Day. However, after attempting to cook a lobster at home, Mark decided he would leave it to the professionals and contacted his local restaurant.
With the bought lobster cooked to perfection, Michelle was wowed by her husband's culinary efforts. However, it wasn't long before she '"clocked" what was happening. Mark revealed: "She was gobsmacked but it was that good. She was like 'there's no way you cook this' ... I was like 'I did'. Anyway the next morning she woke up came into the room and she said 'Mark you're a liar!. I said 'why? as she pulled the bag from the restaurant that I stupidly put in the bin. So basically, I got clocked! I don't think that's a bad thing.... at least I tried and she still loved the meal but maybe I shouldn't have lied and said that I cooked it..."
The showbiz couple have come under fire from fans over the years, with some accusing the pair of not spending enough time with each other due to their respective careers. However, Michelle, who found fame on Coronation Street as Tina McIntyre and is currently wowing fans in Netflix's Fool Me Once, said the couple are "best friends".

She added: "I think we're really lucky where if I go up north, he comes with me if he can, and same with down south. So we're based down south but if we travel, we go with each other and I think that really works for us."
When asked what makes her compatible with Mark - who has become a successful presenter since appearing on the Only Way is Essex - Michelle surmised: "I think just being best friends. I think just being friends and having that relationship."
