Roxy Shahidi reels over 'brutal' exit from Dancing On Ice in double elimination
Dancing On Ice eliminated its fourth contestant on Sunday night, before a fifth name would also be revealed to be leaving.
Three stars and their pro skating partners found themselves at risk in the latest episode, with a double elimination confirmed by hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern - but ultimately it was Roxy Shahidi who was sent packing, with Ricky Norwood and Lou Sanders facing the skate-off. One act learned they would be dropped immediately from the show, while the other bottom acts would need to skate again to keep their place on the show.
While it would be up to judges Oti Mabuse, Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill and guest judge Johnny Weir to pick to send home the second contestant, the first exit was down to the public. As Holly and Stephen confirmed who would be going, viewers learned their votes had cost the Emmerdale star a place in next week's show.
Roxy was visibly shocked by her departure, seen open-mouthed when Holly and Stephen said her name. Roxy confessed it was a "brutal" way to go, but she was proud of what she had achieved.
She praised her pro skating partner Sylvain Longchambon for his support, having already thanked him earlier after she sustained a painful injury. The audience cheered her on as she left the rink for the final time, with the hosts also seemingly shocked that she had gone.
Sam Faiers defends sleeping in separate room to partner Paul for six yearsIt comes after Lou Sanders was the next to leave the show, a week on from her and Claire Sweeney finding themselves in the dreaded skate-off last weekend. Unfortunately, it was Claire and her pro skating partner Colin Grafton who were sent home on that occasion.
Speaking about her time on the show, she admitted she had been in serious pain today but with thanks to the physio, she had managed to push through and was glad her son was there to watch her perform.
Meanwhile, the week prior saw Hannah Spearritt booted out of the competition, and in an appearance on This Morning just a few days after, she admitted she suffered a secret scare just a few hours before she went on the ice. She explained: "I'm glad I'm out of it in one piece, do you know what I mean?
"I can watch it next Sunday on the couch. It was amazing to learn that skill. Yes it is completely dangerous. Anything can go wrong. I had something go wrong three hours before. It wasn't anything major but it just reminds you anything can go wrong at any time. It's just a lot to think about with every move, to make sure it goes right."
Hannah also opened up about her autoimmune condition and how it affected her training, adding: "It had a massive impact at the start, especially. I felt like I've only really come into my own in the last couple of weeks.
"I've been solid and feeling good every day. There was a lot of ups and downs but the last two weeks have been solid. I feel like I was about to get going, but I'm grateful to be able to exercise every day."
Before Hannah's exit, viewers saw former boxer Ricky Hatton revealed as the first star to leave the show. Asked about his exit from theITVseries after just one performance, Ricky confessed he was "gutted" and praised his skating partner for her hard work.
He was pleased with how far he had come along on the show in just a week, after adding new features to his routine which the judges applauded. He said: "I'm gutted to be going home yeah, I've tried to be a winner all my life in everything I've done. It's been a while since I saw the second round. I think I will carry on skating.
"I may be out in the first round but I had a great time, and I met some wonderful friends. I'd like to thank Robin for all her hard work and the coaches." He added that he'd be going home "happy".
