Nigeria are set to take on Ivory Coast in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Sunday night.

Nigeria are unbeaten in the tournament so far, but needed to win a penalty shoot-out against South Africa to book their place in the final. Ivory Coast, meanwhile, have managed to bounce back from an incredibly poor start that saw them lose two of their group games and sack manager Jean-Louis Gasset.

The hosts then beat Senegal in a penalty shoot-out in the last 16 under interim boss Emerse Fae, before earning wins over Mali and DR Congo to reach the final. Nigeria are hoping to lift their fourth AFCON trophy, while Ivory Coast are looking to win their third.

Nigeria won their group stage meeting 1-0 thanks to a William Troost-Ekong penalty, but Ivory Coast certainly have renewed momentum and optimism now under Fae. Here is everything you need to know ahead of today's final...

When is Nigeria vs Ivory Coast?

The final is due to kick off at 8pm on Sunday 11 February, with the game being played at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.

Team news

Star striker Victor Osimhen is set to lead the line for Nigeria, having been able to start the semi-final against South Africa despite battling stomach issues. Nottingham Forest and Fulham defenders Ola Aina and Calvin Bassey both managed to avoid getting another booking in that match which would have seen them suspended for the final, as did Nantes forward Moses Simon.

Zaidu Sanusi, meanwhile, is a doubt after manager Jose Peseiro told reporters he will undergo a late fitness test to determine his involvement. Ivory Coast are set to welcome back defenders Serge Aurier and Odilon Kossounou and forward Oumar Diakite after they missed their semi-final win over DR Congo through suspension.

Brighton winger Simon Adingra and former West Ham and Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller are now fully fit, having both missed Ivory Coast's opening two group games with hamstring and ankle problems respectively.
