Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori could well takeover the fashion industry by launching new brands like Yeezy, according to a PR expert.

The Bound 2 rapper and his model spouse are often in the press due to their A-list relationship, an occupational hazard publicity professionals reckon would give them both roaring success in the fast-moving world of high fashion and designer brands.

Despite the positivity surrounding a potential new launch by the pair, Mayah Riaz warns The Mirror that Ye's recent controversies might hold them back. The 'PR to the stars' says it's "important for Kanye and Bianca to carefully manage their public image".

In an exclusive chat with us during New York Fashion Week, Riaz explained: "Kanye was known for his music but now he is maybe just as well known for his controversial persona. He has already made some waves in the fashion world with his YEEZY brand. So the potential for Kanye and Bianca to further establish themselves in the fashion industry and launch more brands like YEEZY is certainly worth exploring.

"Considering their past successes and undeniable influence, it is not out of the realm of possibility for them to make a significant impact on the fashion world. It is worth pointing out that the recent controversies surrounding Kanye have had mixed effects on his reputation within the fashion world. While some controversies have sparked interest and conversation, others have led to backlash and potential brand damage."

Mayah says Kanye’s celebrity status and reputation as a trendsetter gives him a "strong foundation to build upon" and that his previous collaborations with Adidas for the YEEZY brand have been well-received, generating significant buzz and demand.

"This indicates a receptive market for their future ventures, which is a positive PR element to consider," she explained. "In terms of branding, Kanye and Bianca should focus on leveraging their unique aesthetic and design sensibilities. They have the opportunity to create distinct brand identities that resonate with their target audience. Authenticity and originality will be key factors in establishing their brands as credible and desirable within the highly competitive fashion industry.

"Partnerships and collaborations will also play a crucial role in their PR strategy. By aligning themselves with influential designers, celebrities, or fashion houses, they can leverage existing networks and gain credibility in the industry. These collaborations will help to position their brands as innovative and fashion-forward, generating consumer interest.

"In order for their brand to become successful, it is important for them to consider the use of social media and digital platforms. Kanye has a massive following on various platforms, which can be harnessed to create buzz, engage with fans, and generate excitement around their fashion ventures. Utilising a strategic PR approach to leverage these platforms will help to establish their brands as relevant and cutting-edge.

"It will be key for them to secure positive coverage in top fashion publications, online platforms, and influential blogs. Building relationships with fashion journalists, editors, and influencers will help create a positive narrative around their brands - however, this is where due to his previous controversies, it may hold him back. Kanye might find that securing media coverage for his brand won’t be easy for him now as it would have had been previously."
