Lorraine Stanley struck down with nasty illness as she celebrates huge milestone
Lorraine Stanley has been struck with a nasty illness as she marks a huge personal achievement.
The EastEnders actress, who is known for playing Karen Taylor in the BBC soap, took to her social media to share an update to her fans. She lives with her fiancé Mark Perez and daughter Nancy, but the household have been struck down with a horrible bug. Lorraine, who joined EastEnders in 2017, wrote: "S***gate in our gaff.
"Must be a bug, we're all down, Nancy's been sick too, bless her, she's such a trooper." The actress was brutally axed from the soap last year has also been keeping her followers updated on her attempt to quit vaping. She added: "Taking my mind off vaping though, so every cloud.
"10 days without vaping, three days without any nicotine patches. I'll be honest it's doable... it's testing at times but I'm doing it... I can't believe I'm doing it." Lorraine has also been keeping fans updated on her weight loss journey. Taking to herInstagramStories late last year, Lorraine shared a snap of herself, flexing her muscles in her living room, wearing a black Nike vest and leggings.
Captioning the photo, in which she looked happy and healthy, she said: "I’m feeling fantastic!!!, adding: "#fitat40something #weighttrainingforwomen #igotthis." The actress told fans last year she managed to drop almost a stone in six weeks by cutting down on sweet treats and upping her protein intake.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessLorraine also revealed on ITV's Lorraine she'd cut out carbs. Speaking to Carol Vorderman, she said: "I've lost 12lbs in six weeks. My mate Louisa is my fitness guru, I've got her to thank for it. She talks about nutrition. I've eaten a lot of boiled eggs, fish, and chicken. No carbs, no crisps and chocolate. "I'm enjoying it and I feel better for it."
However, she has revealed to fans that she was "struggling" to find new work after stepping away from Albert Square. The actress wrote back in December: "Self-tape set up in the loft, I'm so not technical but I'm proud I've managed to set it up all by myself, with advice on equipment by @_zack_morris. Just finished one and it's hard work... I'll get there, it's a struggle watching yourself back & not being highly critical on yourself... just let it go & send it." She then added "#sent," to confirm she took the brave step of sending off her audition.
Since her exit from EastEnders was confirmed, Lorraine was spotted liking tweets that slammed the soap for her axing. One she gave the thumbs up to hit out at the soap for their treatment of her. It read: "Absolutely ludicrous, poor Danny Walters came back for this? He was saying he hoped Sheanu got married. Even Lorraine Stanley is being thrown under the bus with it."
She told The Sun after the news got out that she was about to leave the show: "I can’t say too much, but if they kill me, then I would never watch EastEnders again. I was sad, it was a mix of emotions, it’s sad but it’s exciting as now I can go and do what I want."
