A mum-of-two died after being found collapsed under a coat in an A&E department as she waited to see a doctor over a headache.

The 39-year-old had been suffering with a severe headache when she arrived at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham on the evening of January 19. She was observed three times by nurses.

But was then found collapsed under a coat and rushed to intensive care where she sadly died on January 22, reports NottinghamshireLive.

Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH), which operates the hospital, has started an investigation into her care. Dr Keith Girling, Medical Director at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, said: "I offer my sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time. An investigation, which will involve the family, will now take place and until this has been concluded, we are unable to comment further."

Lilian Greenwood, the Labour MP for Nottingham South, told LBC called the events "a disturbing incident" and welcomed an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. She added that "her thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the mother of two."
