A young Reddit user aired out gripes with her nosy neighbours in a subreddit labeled "neighbours from hell," this week, lamenting how diligent her fellow residents are when it comes to ratting her out to their Home Owners Association.

Reddit user Calm_Cat_4289 explained how annoying and pesky her neighbours are in a long post on the subreddit. Cat and her fiancee are relatively younger than their neighbours, she's 25 while her fiancee is 30, so they believe the other resident are singling them out.

Cat said she, her partner and toddler son are subject to non-stop harassment from older residents who often make baseless complaints against the couple, which Cat speculates is done out of boredom. Some elderly residents complained the couple failed to keep their yard tidy while others noted how their trash cans were in the wrong spot.

The family also received a complaint about their son who was supposedly "I feel like we’re constantly being personally targeted for the smallest things. Sometimes these things don’t even make sense," Cat wrote in the forum.

For example, one neighbour complained there were too many toys on Cat's yard, which is obviously because the young mum has an infant sun. Furthermore, older residents said he was too loud when riding his bike or playing outside in general. On a separate occasion, Cat's property manager said the community was "furious" that she and her husband left a single sheet of paper on their yard.

One time, the mother parked her car in a lot designated for residents only. Cat said a lady came "sprinting at full speed" just to yell at her for parking in a resident-only spot. "I told her I am a resident and to go kindly screw. These people literally have nothing better to do than patrol the neighbourhood. I wish I could tell them to go make friends or find some hobbies."

The couple's suspicion that older residents have it out for them have been confirmed numerous times, according to the Reddit mom. She said there's one 60-year-old homeowner who shamelessly drives around the community drunk and then parks the car in a disgusting front yard littered with trash.

However, no one seems to care as he has received no complaints. "I do my best to clean up things to keep the peace, but we both work 6 days a week and don’t have all this time to maintain our house every day and I’m sick of it. We pay WAY too much in rent every month to be bullied by all the neighbours," Cat wrote.
