Skull and Bones open beta release time on PC, Xbox and PS5

Ahead of the game's full release later this month, players can jump into a Skull and Bones open beta, here's what time you can set sail.

It's actually happening. After many, many delays, with the latest Skull and Bones delay being announced back in January 2023, Ubisoft's pirate-filled action-adventure game is finally set to launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PS5 later this month. But, before the full release, players can jump into a Skull and Bones open beta to tread the waters of the long-awaited game.

Ubisoft posted details about the upcoming beta on the Skull and Bones website. You'll be able to play the game and level your Infamy Tier to Tier 6 Rank 1, with progress carrying over into the full game – which is launching on Friday, February 16. You'll be able to unlock some exclusive gear for participating in the beta too, including Sail Patterns, Emblems, and Emotes.

Skull and Bones open beta release time

The Skull and Bones open beta release time is set for 3am GMTon Thursday, February 8, or 9pm EST / 6pm PST on Wednesday, February 7. The open beta will be available to all players on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC via Ubisoft Connect or the Epic Games Store, plus, players on console won't need a PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core subscription to join the beta.

The Skull and Bones open beta will end at 11:59pm GMT / 5:59pm EST / 2:59pm PST on Sunday, February 11, a few days before the launch of the the full game. Players can preload the Skull and Bones open beta right now across all console platforms, and, as is to be expected from an online co-op game, the title supports crossplay across all platforms too.

During the Skull and Bones open beta, there'll be 10 different ships which players can craft and sail, with each having a unique perk. Plus, players will get the chance to experience the main campaign up until the campaign contract called "Exterminate the Rat."

In recent Skull and Bones closed betas, players were only able to explore areas called "Red Isle" and "Coast of Africa", but in this latest open beta, players will be able to cross over into the "Open Seas" and "East Indies" areas.
