Una Healy says she had a 'great time' on dating apps immediately after a split

Una Healy has teased that she had a "great time" in the immediate aftermath of her divorce from Ben Foden and joined a dating app, but said it was a "honeymoon" period.

The Saturdays singer's last high-profile was with I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star David Haye last year, with Una going on to deny claims she had been in a 'throuple' with the boxer and his long-term girlfriend. But before David, the mum-of-two dated - and divorced - another famous sports star.

The singer-songwriter, 42, was in a relationship with rugby union player Ben, 38, from 2008 until the split up in 2018. The former couple are understood to have finalised their divorce months later, after having got married back in 2012. It was reported following their separation that Una and Ben - who has admitted to being unfaithful during their marriage - were looking to move on. She has now spoken about her experience in the immediate aftermath of their divorce.

Una reflected on her experience following the end of their marriage whilst on Boots' Taboo Talk podcast. She featured as a guest on the latest episode of the podcast, hosted by Vogue Williams, alongside Love Island finalist Faye Winter. She said: "We needed to split up and to divorce because we couldn't stay together. [But] you always see the couples and the families and everything and you just feel so lonely cause like that's not you anymore." Una added: "It's really hard."

The musician - who rose to fame as a member of the group the Saturdays - said on the podcast: "When we decided together [to divorce], very quickly y'know after he admitted he did what he did, we actually were both delighted with the decision because it had been rumbling for a while."

Una went on to share that she headed to Los Angeles and joined membership-based dating app Raya, which has been associated with various celebrities over the years. Una said that she wanted "a bit of craic" rather than a relationship. She commented: "I actually had a great time. I dyed my hair blonde. I went platinum [...] It didn't last long, but I loved it. I got all blonde, loads of extensions in. I went out to L.A. I met a fella on the Raya. I had a great time. It was like 'wahoo'."

The guest, who shares two children with her ex-husband Ben, however said it was "short-lived". She said: "But that's very short-lived. That's kind of like an illusion in a way. It was the honeymoon after. I loved it, I actually did, [but] I would say to anyone that's coming out of divorce, I would wait to get into a relationship with someone so quickly."

Una continued on the latest episode of the podcast: "I was going through the whole sorting the house out, doing all that, and I met someone very quickly afterwards [who] came to me. I didn't go out looking for anyone. I just wanted to have a bit of craic on the Raya, y'know, over in L.A."

Asked if she went straight onto dating apps following the end of her marriage, Una said: "I think I did. Just that one [app]. I just went on that one. It's so annoying cause it's so long. You're like chatting to people and then [with] some there's a good bit of banter going on and then sometimes they don't and it's like tumbleweed. It's very time-consuming but I just had y'know that bit of fun."
