Dunelm sale items that caught my eye, including gorgeous boucle rocking chair
Upgrading the style of my home has been at the top of my New Year's wishlist for over a month, with various rugs, wall art, picture frames and furniture swapped in and out of my online basket. I'm certainly indecisive when it comes to shopping but that was recently caved by Dunelm's huge price cuts.
Hand-in-hand with the likes of The Range, John Lewis and M&S there are plenty of eye-watering discounts to make the most of if you're looking to upgrade the things in your home. Dunelm has dropped a huge 50% off this Pebble Wool Rug, £40 off this gorgeous 70s-esque Oval Coffee Table, and this Boucle Rocking Chair has dropped from £259 down to £1 29.50 - it would be a stunner in the corner of a nursery or statement piece in a living room.
A recent trip to Currys, Lakeland and Dunelm proved so, especially in the home-tech department with £500 off Samsung's snazzy The Frame TV. This time around homeware was at the top of my list as I was on a mission to find rugs, throws, bedding and storage for a fraction of the price, without scrimping on the stylish look.

I was itching to catch a glimpse of the unmissable deals in person to get an idea of the style, size and how they would fit in my flat. These were the things too good to leave behind.
Kate Middleton swears by £19.99 rosehip oil that helps 'reduce wrinkles & scars'Boucle fabrics, the kind of fluffy knotted-up yarn (or wool), has become a hit with furniture shoppers in recent weeks. In fact, I don't think there's a homeware store you can walk into and not find a boucle version of a chair, stool, storage basket and even frame - it's everywhere.
And this £129.50 Elements Maddox Rocking Chair made me realise why, as it's the perfect mix between soft and fluffy while having the edge when it comes to style. Usually £259 it's currently 50% off at Dunelm, now £129.50.
An obvious choice for the corner of a nursery or playroom, this ivory chair could also fit as a statement piece in an entrance hallway, bedroom or reading corner. The wooden oak frame gives it a retro feel, paired against the light fabric so it doesn't get lost in a room.
- Buy the Dunelm Butterscotch Rush Basket - here from £25
Next we have my favourite find from in-store which caught my eye in the furniture section as it was neatly displayed on top of a chest of draws. It's the £25 Butterscotch Rush Basket, a stylish piece of storage that could quite literally work in any room; the bedroom, living room, playroom and even bathroom.
At £25 I couldn't resist popping this in my trolley, especially as it's £15 cheaper than this John Lewis item I'd previously had my eye on. I loved how the burnt orange and black colours blended into the neutral woven basket, it wouldn't be hard to find a space for this in any room of your house, no matter the theme.
A new front doormat wasn't on my list, but this statement piece was too eye-catching to ignore. Usually £6 this home essential can now be found for 30% off, for £4.20.
And yes, it does have a very distinct look to the vibrant 'Welcome' mats at Oliver Bonas. Like this blue and pink border one that sells for £19.50, it has very similar colours and the same bold style but is more than triple the price.
- Dunelm Jenson Throw - you can buy here
The next item that caught my eye was Dunelm's range of throws, ideal for throwing on this winter but won't be a style mishap if neatly thrown off the arm of the sofa when not in use. Now £12 online, I loved the texture and subtle green style of the Jenson throw.
I didn't find too many sales throws in store, that I personally liked, but there are loads online at Dunelm for 50% off. Like this Chunky Knit throw, usually £49 it's been cut down to £24.50 if you pick the Navy colourway. If you want a real bargain, this Soft Fleece Throw is just £5 in the sale.
Argos shoppers rush to buy Hy-Pro Football Table that's slashed to half price- Shop Dunelm's discounted rugs including this £5 Whistler Faux Fur one
A rug can transform a room in seconds, adding for an extra touch of comfort or simply to break an open plan room down into different spaces. I was personally on the lookout for one to go under my sofa and coffee table, make the open plan living space feel warmer.
The two blue traditional rugs were exactly what I was looking for, a beautifully intricate design that's not too overpowering, and while it's a step up from a plain carpet-like rug it doesn't make my living room feel too busy. The £79 Elise Traditional Rug is not in the sale, but I've found just as good options that are.
Faux fur lovers will no doubt be pleased with this £5 Whistler Rug, that would usually set you back £10. This more versatile textile is the indoor and outdoor Moretti Rug, that now costs a discounted £29.50.
