Is Fortnite down – server downtime schedule confirmed after delay
Fortnite's second major update of Chapter 5 Season 1 is dropping today, here's when the server downtime will end and what time you can jump in.
With the newest Fortnite update being seemingly delayed yesterday, 24 hours later than expected, Fortnite update 28.20 is finally here, with downtime expected across the main title and Lego Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. Ahead of the update, Epic Games has confirmed that new Fortnite x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles content is coming, and, as always, there's set to be a bunch of new store items including McLaren, Black Widow, Year of the Dragon and more.
Here's when Fortnite update v28.20 goes live and the confirmed server downtime schedule.
Fortnite server downtime for update v28.20
Epic has confirmed via a Twitter post that Fortnite server downtime for update v28.20 will begin at 9am GMT / 4am EST / 1am PST. As always, matchmaking will go down 30 minutes beforehand, which will allow players to finish off their match before it goes down.
We expect Fortnite server downtime to last until 1pm GMT / 8am EST / 5am PST today, as Fortnite typically goes down for four hours following every major update. Although, it's probably a good idea to check if you can get into the game every few hours, as it can come back online quicker than expected depending on the size of the update.
