Sir Rod Stewart and Johnny Depp teamed up for a surprise gig to raise money for Celia Hammond's Animal Trust.

The duo performed at the posh Ned Hotel in London, raising nearly £250,000 for the charity that helps stray cats and kittens. The actor and rocker kept their collaboration under wraps, but delighted the audience with performances of Sir Rod's hits like Maggie May and Forever Young, while Johnny showed off his guitar skills.

"Celia's devotion and commitment to protecting vulnerable and neglected animals is beyond admirable," Johnny told DailyMail.com. "I'm so glad to be part of the evening's success, and with the added bonus of playing alongside my friend, Sir Rod Stewart."

Johnny was reportedly the only person who attended Jeff's private burial, alongside his widow Sandra and their dog. The intimate gathering followed Jeff's courageous battle with meningitis, resulting in his death on January 10.

Celeb friends including Tom Jones, Eric Clapton, Sir Rod and Ronnie Wood also paid their last respects at a funeral held prior to the burial. Even though Beck died after the pals had been touring for just 18 weeks, they were considered as "musical soulmates" by Beck's website.

Not only were they secretly creating new music for several years, but they also debuted an official music video for track 'This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr', their album's first single.

When reflecting on their collaboration, Johnny commented: "It's an extraordinary honour to play and write music with Jeff, one of the true greats and someone I am now privileged enough to call my brother." In response, Jeff praised him back stating, "I haven't had another creative partner like him for ages."
