Jonathan Majors sentencing trial suddenly postponed as actor files new motion
Jonathan Majors was not sentenced after his conviction on assault and harassment of ex-girlfriend charges due to a court postponement.
The actor's sentencing was set for Tuesday, Feb 6. at 9:00 a.m., but Pix 11 reported that the court procedure was postponed. He later appeared in a digital hearing at 2:15 p.m. for different motions filed on his behalf by his attorneys. Judge Michael Gaffey set April 9 as the new sentencing date for the disgraced Marvel actor, according to Variety.
Just days before, Jonathan was seen in good spirits with a smile across his face and a friendly peace sign to nearby photographers. When stopped by reporters last month, he said he called on his faith to remain optimistic.

According to the accusations, Jonathan pushed Grace back into a car following an argument. She was later found by police slumped in a closet when they responded to a call. She expressed that this stand-alone incident was actually a part of a series of alleged "manipulative" tactics and abuse.

Grace showed the court evidence that included photos of a gash on the back of her ear and a swollen finger. Additionally, her attorney provided screenshots of messages between the two where Jonathan pleaded with her not to visit the doctor out of fear that the injuries may lead back to him.

The actors also referred to himself as a "monster" during a myriad of emotionally fueled messages. Grace's attorney said: "When [Jonathan] acted like that previously, he said to not tell anyone or else it’d ruin their relationship. [Grace] withdrew from family and friends because it felt like she was lying to them. She didn’t take care of herself, was reliant on [Jonathan]. He would blame her for making him upset.”
In an interview with Good Morning America, Jonathan was asked what he would do differently if he could. He replied: "I wouldn't have picked her up. I wouldn't have picked her up, I wouldn't have put her back in the car, I wouldn't have tried to keep her in the car. I would have gotten out that car and ran, immediately."
