Rob Donovan's killer storyline will be revisited on Coronation Street next week.

Rob killed Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) back in 2014 when he chased her onto the balcony of the Builder's Yard. When she tried to leave, he pushed her and she fell off the roof, with Rob convinced he killed her. With Tina still alive, he attacked her with an iron bar but she survived that attack and was rushed to hospital as doctors tried to save her.

His son Bobby Donovan showed up just a few weeks ago, leaving Carla Connor stunned. However, she was in for even more of a shock when Bobby revealed he was the secret son of her brother Rob.

Next week on the ITV soap, Rita and Mary are shocked to find out that Bobby is Rob's son. Feeling the heat from the Cobbles learning about the familial connection, Bobby is desperate to know what happened with Tina, convinced it was in self-defence. However, he is horrified to learn that isn't the case and Rob killed Tina in cold blood.

Jack Carroll plays Bobby Donovan on the soap and at the time of his arrival on the ITV soap, Jack shared his "delight" at joining the soap. He said: "I’m delighted and honoured to be playing a part in the history of the cultural institution that is Coronation Street. I hope Bobby brings viewers a lot of laughs in the vein of some of the street’s classic comedy characters."

At the time of his exit, Marc Baylis - who played Rob - spoke about his character's decision.

Speaking about the huge scenes, he shared: "It is an accident – that wasn’t his motive when he went into the flat. He’s protecting his family… It happens as an accident. It’s not a black and white storyline, there’s a lot of grey areas. When Rob’s back is against the wall that’s when he’ll do an act that, from his point of view, is protection."

And asked how he'd respond to the criticism since he became a soap villain, he added: "This is the longest acting job I’ve had. No matter how it plays out you can’t focus on that. Ultimately it’s a privilege to be given a storyline like this.

"I'm going to have to take it on the chin. I’ll just have to find new ways to hide away."
