Paris Jackson has opened up about the true reason behind her stunning new look at the Grammy Awards 2024.

The daughter of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson decided to cover up her trademark tattoos. Fans of the singer and actress did a double-take when they saw her grace the red carpet without her 80 inkings.

Paris, 25, looked sensational in a black Celine gown with cut-out panels as she flashed the flesh with a huge thigh split. Now she has revealed the reason behind her bold fashion decision.

Her makeover began at 5am when she woke up to begin the process of covering up her tattoos. Paris said: "I wanted to give this Celine dress its own moment."

Speaking to Extra TV, she said: "I love the piercings, the tattoos, all the body mod stuff, but sometimes it can distract from the art." Paris explained it was her creative pals that inspired her to take the leap.

She said: "I made a friend when I did AHS a couple of years ago, Tyson Fountaine, he did my body make-up for one of my nude scenes I had." She told Access Hollywood: "When I decided to do this with CoverFX, I wanted to call him on.

"I had my whole dream team. I had Tyson and Pauly Blanch for face and Miles Jeffries for hair. I was like all the people I love putting this together."

Meanwhile Paris divided fans on social media with her dramatic new look. People watching the red carpet arrivals on X, formerly known as Twitter, had plenty to say. One person penned: "She looks better without them."

But another added: "Why cover them up?! I don't get why you get them to cover them." Someone else then said: "So much nicer without tattoos."

While a fourth penned: "That’s a lot of makeup to put on your body to cover the tattoos." And a fifth person said: "She ate this. I was so confused lmao."
