A bridesmaid has revealed how the ‘devastating and dramatic’ scenes at her friend’s wedding left everyone reeling, but none more so than the groom. After setting the stressful scene, she told how her 29-year-old friend was supposed to be getting married the previous week, however, dramatic developments led to the wedding being cancelled 30 minutes before the couple was due to say ‘I do.’

After revealing how the wedding had been doomed from the start, she said there had been nothing but drama every step of the way. She said: “She refused to invite my best friend, who she's supposedly good friends with because she thinks we're lesbian lovers. We're not. She also had us go to the dress fitting and then demanded each of us pay £1,500 ($2,000) for our dresses. Apparently, she had a specific style she wanted. I can afford it, but I won't buy a $2,000 dress for one event. Some of the girls in the bridal party don't have that flexibility with money.”

Alongside this, she had told her fiancé he wasn’t allowed to invite any single females to the wedding who weren’t blood relatives of his, and demanded her bridesmaids all cancel family holidays to attend her destination hen-do.

But the cherry on top of the wedding cake occurred on the day itself when marital meltdowns made it a day to remember – for all of the wrong reasons: “The whole day she had constant outbursts. She made people cry. Like, wedding staff and bridesmaids. The maid-of-honour deserves a medal for the amount of diplomacy and bull**** control she had to do.”

She continued: “Eventually I had my make-up and hair done, then the bride asked for a little bit of time alone to 'decompress' from the stress. We didn't even fight it, you could not see a group of women run faster away,” she said, before revealing the request was only 30 minutes before the wedding ceremony.

However no one was prepared for what happened next: “It had to be about five minutes before the start of the wedding when the maid-of-honour came over to tell me the wedding was cancelled. I asked her what happened,” she said, before revealing that the bride-to-be was caught by her husband-to-be having a 'quickie' – with his uncle.

She then revealed the maid-of-honour told her to run: “She said that she was trying to get as many people out before things exploded. So I quickly got my purse, gathered the two bridesmaids who were carpooling with me, and we left like the devil was after us. I checked with the other bridesmaids and all had escaped.”

After describing the groom as ‘an absolute gem of a man’ she said she hoped he was able to have the ‘biggest single man party ever’. She also revealed that the bride-to-be’s father had told her in front of everyone that she would be paying for the wedding on her own.

However, the drama didn’t end there, with the woman saying how the bride had called her half an hour later demanding money to help pay her cancellation fees. She said: “She demanded £4,000 ($5,000), as according to her it was our duty as the bridal party to pay her cancellation fees. I am never speaking to this woman again.”

After taking the wedding day fiasco to Reddit, readers were shocked at the story: “The trash took itself out,” said one. “Sending healing vibes and positive energy the groom's way, and someone suggest counselling to him as gently – and as soon – as possible.”

Another said: “I literally do not understand people who cheat so casually like this. Like she really thought it was okay to cheat on her fiancé on the day of the wedding, less than an hour before the ceremony – in her wedding dress. what the f***!"

Another echoed the same sentiment: “In her wedding dress with his uncle. Nothing like keeping it in the family." Another commented: “You did right in telling her to leave you alone. Actions have consequences. This bride is a mess.”
