Kylian Mbappe ’s wage demands are putting the buffers on a sensational move to Real Madrid but Liverpool and Arsenal will NOT be attempting a stunning hijack.

The French forward is out of contract at the end of the season and is anticipated to make a Bosman switch to the Santiago Bernabeu. The Spanish side have long been chasing Mbappe’s services and were previously left furious after he performed a U-turn on a move to sign a new deal with PSG in May 2022.

Another problem now appears to have arisen. According to The Independent, Real are still in talks with Mbappe regarding his contract and there is still some distance between the two parties regarding his wage packet.

It is suggested that an agreement is still some way off. PSG are still keen on keeping him at the Parc des Princes and their offer of a renewed deal remains on the table but the club’s Qatari owners do not want to be held to ransom.

PSG head coach Luis Enrique recently revealed that Mbappe has not made a decision over his future known to the club. Speaking last week, the Spaniard said: "Kylian didn't tell me anything so far.”

While Real Madrid appear to be the most likely destination, it is also suggested that a move to the Premier League has been explored. Arsenal and Liverpool are potential destinations but neither side want to break their wage structure to facilitate a move.

Elsewhere, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has regularly remained tight-lipped on Real’s anticipated move for Mbappe. Speaking earlier this season, he said: "It's a question you can ask me today, in three days, in a week, a month, two or three months... and it's a question I will never answer.”

Ancelotti doubled down on that stance last month with the January transfer window open. He said: “I’m not going to comment about this topic. No comment, you should know we don’t speak about it.”

Mbappe is currently in the middle of another sensational season with PSG. He has scored 29 goals in just 28 appearances in all competitions for the French giants.

His form has led PSG to an eight-point lead at the top of Ligue 1. Should they win the league this term, Mbappe would depart France as a seven-time champion. He won his first title with Monaco ahead of moving to PSG.

Mbappe will be hoping to extend his form in midweek against Brest, ahead of a league clash against Lille. PSG then get their Champions League campaign back underway against Spanish side Real Sociedad.
