Footage shows two fishermen battling with a monster 12ft great white shark.

Blaine Kenny spent an hour reeling in the 1,200-pound big fish after spotting it swimming along a beach in Florida, USA, last Wednesday. The predator continually pulled back out before Blaine managed to draw it out of the water - with business partner Dylan Wier acting as spotter.

The pair - who own shark fishing outfitter and fishing tour group Coastal Worldwide, set out the previous night to catch the "biggest shark possible" at Navarre Beach, around 25 miles east of Pensacola. They used a 150-pound swordfish head and an 80-pound yellowfin tuna. At 8am the following morning Blaine's line was tugged by the shark.

A 25-minute long video on the company's YouTube channel, Blaine says: "He’s not letting me take anything. We might have to end up chasing him at some point." Dylan then starts making predictions on what the catch could be. "It’s a big, big wintertime shark,” he says.

"There’s only a few things it can be, a mako, a giant tiger, a white shark or the biggest dusky we’ve ever seen in our lives. We’re just going to play it out, not jump to assumptions, and really does it matter what’s on the other end of that line right now? We have one task at hand and the task is Blaine has to stay locked in. I have to stay locked in."

The spotter then uses a drone to fly out overhead to see if he can confirm what type of shark his partner is reeling in as the battle continues. They soon realise its a great white. Dylan says: “Yeah, that’s a monster, dude, that’s not just any white shark.” At one stage, Blaine fears the shark has left the line, saying he would be "heartbroken". Finally, Blaine pulls the catch onto the shore.

"Look at this thing... Look at this thing... Look at that thing. Oh my gosh dude that's a freaking monster," Blaine says. Dylan adds: "This has been the day that Blaine has been dreaming about since he dropped his first freaking bait dude. Oh my gosh." Blaine explains that due to the type of shark he needs to get it back out into the water as soon as possible. He removes the hook and then releases it. He says: "I’ve said it so many times before, but truly words cannot describe the feeling of this fish right here."

The shark had a deep gash directly behind its dorsal fin, which Dylan speculated was likely caused by a boat strike. “There you go, big momma,” he said as it swam away. Last March, the two men led a group of family and friends on a land-based shark fishing trip and reeled in a juvenile great white off Orange Beach, believed to be the first ever caught off an Alabama beach.
