Jay-Z slams Grammys for never giving Beyonce Album of the Year despite 32 wins
Jay-Z was honoured with the Global Impact Award at the Grammys and used his speech time to defend his wife.
In a lengthy speech, he pointed out a shocking fact: Beyonce has never won album of the year, despite her many other accolades. The famed rapper stood beside his daughter, Blue Ivy, as he looked out at the crowd and, more specifically, his gorgeous wife Beyonce.
He started his speech by saying: "Think about that. Most Grammys, never won album of the year ... Some of you gonna go home tonight and feel like you've been robbed, some of you may get robbed. Some of you don't belong in the category ... Now, when I get nervous I tell the truth. But outside of that, outside of that, we gotta keep showing up."

He reached out to hold his daughter's hand as he continued on, saying: "And forget the Grammys for a second, just in life as my daughter sits and stares at me just as nervous as I am. Just in life, you gotta keep showing up, just keep showing up. Forget the Grammys you gotta keep showing up until they give you all those accolades you deserve. Until they call you chairman. Until they call you a genius. Until they call you the greatest."
His rollercoaster of a speech was met with varying levels of emotions throughout the audience. They were shocked as he shaded others in the iconic category, but laughed nervously along with him. Nonetheless, he received a thunderous round of applause.

Jay-Z was seen in an all black suit while his daughter, Blue, wore a beautiful white off-the-shoulder gown. She wore her hair down in braids as she held Jeffrey Levinson's iconic clutch.
The BeyHive was totally on Jay-Z 's side. One fan wrote: "Speak your truth and talk your s**t Jay-Z because Beyoncé, Lemonade, and Renaissance should have ALL won! ESPECIALLY Renaissance!"
Another added: "IT’S DA D**N TRUTH, Beyoncé is the most awarded artist in Grammy history yet not a single win in the biggest category of the ceremony? Clock that yea Shawn."
A third added a bit of analysis to the situation, saying: "Jay-Z's point hits hard when you look at the stats. Surely, Beyoncé's influence and talent are unmistakable; it makes you wonder what criteria are prioritized in those decisions."
