Chocolate lovers are quite literally traipsing across the country this week.

It comes after shoppers spotted 'rare' versions of the popular choccies Twix and Snickers - that originally came from the US. In fact, across the pond, the treats were used as part of a giveaway a few years ago and were 'snapped up in less than three minutes. They soon became a permanent fixture in supermarkets due to their popularity.

Now, Brits can pick them up at their local Budgens store. But, you might have to act quick as shoppers are desperate to get their hands on the desert, even if they're miles away.

Social media account New Foods UK posted a picture on Instagram and Facebook, after discovering tubs of Twix and Snickers edible cookie dough. The chocolate treats, along with other flavours, are also available online.

American Candy Store is currently flogging an M&M version for £5.50 per tub. All of the cookie doughs are completely egg-free and don't require cooking before consumption.

Hundreds of impressed shoppers took to the comments section, tagging their friends and asking them to pick some of the tubs. "Aw I want to try these!" one person commented - while another added: "Yummy."

One woman even took a screenshot of the distance to her nearest Budgens store, which is located 41 miles away in Manchester. She added: "Off to Manchester..." However, not everybody was pleased with the product.

"They are hideous," one person fumed, while another described them as 'disgusting' and tasting like 'play-doh'. A third added: "Bought the Snickers one on Saturday. [The] consistency is nothing like cookie dough and we didn’t enjoy it. [I'm] so disappointed as we had high hopes."
