There's nothing worse than coming to use your milk in a lovely frothy coffee a few days after opening, only to realise it's gone sour, and Cravendale seems to change the game - but how?

Cravendale milk is known for its longer shelf life, and slightly higher price tag - but there's a really clever reason why it lasts as long as it does. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one woman was pondering why Cravendale lasts so long: "Serious question why does normal milk last x amount of days but Cravendale, for example, lasts longer without tasting like long life UHT milk?"

According to Arla Foods, "Arla Cravendale: is a filtered milk that unopened, stays fresh for twice as long as standard milk." But why? Well, turns out it's all down to the "ceramic filters to remove some of the natural bacteria meaning it lasts for seven days opened and up to three weeks unopened."

As well as surviving for longer in your fridge, you can also freeze it - but its recommended to do it as soon as you purchase it, and certainly within the best-before date. On social media, many praised Cravendale for lasting so long, with someone writing: "I buy Cravendale, which is filtered to keep longer because we don't get through a litre very quickly. It easily lasts for a week." Another referred to Cravendale as the "nectar of the Gods" because of its delicious taste.

"Milk does not get better than this", someone else raved, while a social media user joked: "I'm currently sipping Cravendale whole milk two litres out of a wine glass."

Another hilariously penned: "Paid my phone bill on time for the first time in years and brought Cravendale milk never felt so finically stable", with an X user saying they felt "fancy" when they purchased the filtered milk.
