The chaos of deadline day means surprise deals are very rarely off the table.

While clubs consider their moves for days before making a bid in the summer, when it comes to the final day of the January transfer window, that gets massively accelerated. Senior figures at clubs know they do not have time on their side and that is reflected in the crazy nature of deadline day.

Several players have been linked with moves all month, but on Thursday, they could actually come to fruition. Teams will need to back up that interest with bids if they want the men on their shortlist and several Premier League switches could take place before the day is done.

We take a look at several names who've been in the gossip columns all month, but remain at their current employers, yet could find new homes by Friday.

Dominic Solanke

The Bournemouth frontman has enjoyed his best season in the top flight to date, proving that he is more the capable in the Premier League as he begins to realise his potential. Solanke's spells at Chelsea and Liverpool failed to work out as planned, but he's now impressing with the Cherries. He will be vital to their survival hopes and yet his exploits in front of goal have attracted interest from the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle. A notable bid could yet turn Bournemouth's head, even this late in the day.

Armando Broja

He remains on the periphery at Stamford Bridge and, like so many in Blue, aren't quite sure where they stand in the pecking order. Broja has previously impressed when given regular minutes and needs that exposure to continue his development. Several teams, including fierce rivals Fulham, have been linked with a move with Chelsea able to command a decent fee for the Armenian. Even if they sanction a loan departure, that could suit all parties for now, although The Sun reports the club have dropped their asking price to increase the chances of him moving away.

Miguel Almiron

He looked destined for Saudi Arabia but remains a Newcastle player. Almiron has remained a regular with the Magpies yet they were still willing to sanction his exit earlier this month. Those at St James' Park know they need to balance their books and offloading the Paraguayan would've helped do so ahead of the summer. Eddie Howe expects Almiron to now stay, but confessed: "As far as I know at the moment, there's nothing going to happen, although there's still time left."

Conor Gallagher

He's donned the Chelsea armband numerous times this season and yet there continues to be talk of him leaving the club. Gallagher is by no means the biggest name in the Blues midfield, and that might be his issue with the hierarchy continuing to invest in new talent. His contract is up for renewal and, despite Pochettino admitting he wants Gallagher to stay, that decision may be left with those at the top. Tottenham are among those thought to be keen on the England international.

Antonio Nusa

The player has looked to be Brentford-bound for the past few days with the winger due to join from Club Bruges, but there are now reports that the deal has hit a major speed bump which leaves it hanging in the balance. Thomas Frank admits he's not overly optimistic but on deadline day negotiations get accelerated and deals go from dead to live in a matter of hours.
