Pictures from behind the scenes on the Netflix set for new series Griselda show actress Sofia Vergara goofing around with co-stars and posing with piles of cash.

The images show the Modern Family actress posing alongside her co-stars as she plays the Cocaine Godmother Griselda Blanco who took over the criminal underworld in Miami, Florida, during the 1970s.

In the snaps, Sofia poses alongside her on-screen husband who plays second husband Alberto Bravo and in another she can be seen lying across a desk behind piles of cash. In another photograph, she poses on a private het with her on-screen third husband Darío Sepúlveda, played by Alberto Guerra.

Griselda is a fictionalised dramatisation inspired by the life of Griselda Blanco, who allegedly created one of the most powerful cartels in history. The six-episode special, set in the 70s to 80s, has been a huge hit with viewers who have been left hooked on the story of the drug lord's criminal success amidst violence and power.

Since launching on Netflix, the Griselda series has won over fans with calling for the Modern Family actress to win "all of the awards". The series has earned positive reviews from critics and general audiences, with particular praise given to Vergara’s performance as the titular drug lord.

Despite the praise for Sofia in the lead role, the actress is reportedly being taken to court by the family of Griselda Blanco over her portrayal of the Colombian drug lord. According to TMZ, she was assassinated in 2012 and now her children, acting as representatives of her estate, claim Sofia's portrayal of their mother is "unauthorised". The family is suing the actress and Netflix for the use of Griselda's image and likeness in the series.

According to court documents seen by the outlet, real-life Griselda's kids tried to "prevent the release" of the series, and asked for an injunction to block its release before it hit the streaming platform earlier this month.

According to TMZ, Griselda's son Michael Corleone Blanco says he has been doing interviews for years about a possible show about his mother. Michael claims he's been doing interviews since 2009, with the possibility of the story also becoming a book and this new Netflix series "ripped off their family story".

According to the complaint, the kids claim use of their own images and likenesses in the show without their permission violate their rights. Netflix declined to comment when approached on this subject.
