Festival season is fast approaching and music fans are already gearing up for an action-packed summer - and hoping to see their favourite artists take to the stage.

While some music lovers have managed to get their hands on tickets for huge festivals others haven't been so lucky. Tickets for Glastonbury have already sold out, leaving people still reeling from the news. Thankfully, there is one way to bag free tickets to a number of events. Oxfam is giving people the chance to gain free entry to Glastonbury, Latitude, and Reading festivals if they sign up to become one of their 8,500 volunteer stewards. This means there is a possibility that you could witness legendary music solo artists and acts as they perform in front of crowds across the country.

You could be one of the thousands of attendees at well-known festivals including the Bearded Theory, Download, Isle of Wight, Glastonbury, 2000Trees, Latitude, WOMAD, Wilderness, Boardmasters, Boomtown Fair, ArcTanGent, Beautiful Days, Shambala, Reading and Leeds. But you'll need to be quick as the deadline for applications is on Thursday, February 1st.

Volunteers can apply for as many festivals as they like through the Oxfam website and will be required to pay a deposit, which will be refunded once they have completed their shifts. They are required to work three eight-hour shifts across the duration of a festival, which will then hopefully leave them with 'plenty of time' to enjoy the atmosphere and catch live acts.

Head of Festivals and Events Michael Lever said: "We have been providing volunteer stewards at the UK’s biggest and best festivals for over 30 years now, after first taking our volunteers to Glastonbury in 1993. We’ve come a long way since then and people can now join us at 15 festivals across the UK and by doing so raise money for Oxfam.

"We’ve built a friendly and passionate community of volunteers and many of them have been coming back year after year with some attending over 100 festivals with Oxfam. We’ll also continue to have volunteers to support our campaigning and last year we provided an opportunity for tens of thousands of people to sign our Climate Justice campaign and join in Oxfam’s collective activism."

According to the Glastonbury website, there will be a re-sale of tickets for the festive in April 2024. They said: "As part of our ongoing efforts against ticket touting, anyone who would like to attend the Festival will need to have registered in advance of the ticket sale." The first set of acts in the line-up could be announced in March, and the complete list of performers confirmed in May, as per tradition.
