The MOBO Awards 2024 is right around the corner with Love Island's Indiyah Polack and comedian Babatúndé Aléshé co-hosting the highly-anticipated show.

For the first time in its 26 years, the event is set to take place in Sheffield. It is set to kick off the 2024 awards season, coming live from the Utilita Arena Sheffield on 7 February 2024. For the last 14 years, The MOBO awards have been hosted in cities outside of the capital, apart from the 25th anniversary, including Leeds, Coventry and Glasgow.

MOBO founder, Kanya King CBE, said: "MOBO are excited to be kicking off the 2024 Awards season and heading to the city of Sheffield for the very first time for the 26th MOBO Awards. For the past 14 years, the MOBO Awards have travelled to cities outside of London – including Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Coventry, and now Sheffield."

How to watch the MOBO awards?

The event, which has Little Simz and Stormzy topping the nominations, is taking place at 8pm on 7 February and will be available to watch in full on MOBO's official YouTube channel. One of the hosts, Love Island star Indiyah Polack, told followers in a recent video: "Set your reminders and join us on Wednesday, 7 February at 8pm on YouTube."

Meanwhile, the 26th Annual MOBO Awards: Access All Areas will be available to watch on BBC One on Friday, 9 February at 11:30pm on BBC One. The hour-long programme will showcase the best highlights from the ceremony.

Who is hosting and performing at the MOBO awards?

This year, Love Island beauty Indiyah and comedian Babatúndé Aléshé will co-host the ceremony. Previous hosts include the likes of Alesha Dixon, Maya Jama, Mel B and YouTube sensations Chunkz and Yung Filly. Speaking about hosting this year's show, reality star Indiyah told BBC Newsbeat: "I feel privileged to be hosting such a big ceremony that's very popular in my culture. A lot of people that are going to be watching can obviously relate and will hopefully like me being involved." "You can expect vibes, vibes and more vibes," I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Babatúndé added.

As for performers, fans can expect Jamaican-born Kittitian recording artist Byron Messia to perform on the night. He's known for his hit song Talibans, which came out in early 2023. An official remix of the song titled Talibans II with Nigerian singer Burna Boy was released a few months later. DJ Spoony and Soul II Soul will also be performing on stage. There are still a few more live acts that have yet to be announced. Raye, PinkPantheress and Central Cee are some of the many talented stars nominated this year.
