EastEnders fans distracted as they 'rumble' Jack and Stacey new affair downfall

EastEnders was full of dramatic scenes on Tuesday night as Jack Branning and Stacey Slater rekindled their affair.

Soap fans will recall that the two characters enjoyed a drunken fling before Christmas with Jack's partner, Denise Fox, hitting out at Stacey on several occasions. Despite the two putting an end to things, it was clear there was still a spark between the two characters.

On Tuesday night, Jack found himself growing closer to Stacey after a court ruling regarding their granddaughter, Charli Branning Slater, and her guardianship. Meanwhile, at the same time, Denise was left crumbling over the fallout of the Christmas attack and subsequent murder of Keanu Taylor to which she stormed out of the court, leaving Jack and Stacey to get close.

Later, unbeknownst to their families who were in the next room, Jack and Stacey shared a passionate kiss in her kitchen, with Jack explaining that while he said "no" the night before, he "liked being" with Stacey and wanted to take things further. In a cruel twist, at the same time, Denise was left at home, crying in bed, with her step-daughter, Amy Mitchell [Jack's daughter] comforting her in bed.

The episode ended with Jack and Stacey in bed while cuddling one another after a heated embrace. "Tell me the truth, is this just another one-off?" Stacey asked the police officer, who responded: "No, no, this is real, this is what I want," before they once again shared a passionate kiss.

However, viewers were left confused by the scenes as they took to Twitter, now X, to point out their downfall. One person said: "The real question is how did Jack & Stacey find a bed and some privacy due to the sheer number of people in that house?! #EastEnders", a different account put: "900 people live in Stacey's house but no-one ever walks in on her and Jack", while another viewer put: "Okay so you’re telling me in a house FULL of kids / Jean/ Harvey/Eve/Suki - Stacey and Jack were able to sneak off UNNOTICED & UNHEARD for some sexy time ?? As Kim would say - “Do me a favour!” #Eastenders."

Elsewhere, one soap watcher put: "What I don't get is that these are small houses. Stacey's house is full of kids, then there's Jean, Eve and Suki. So why hasn't anyone there noticed what they are doing? #EastEnders", a different account put: "How Jack and Stacey are secretly sleeping together in a house with 6 other people and a newborn is beyond me #eastenders" while another added: "How many bedrooms does Stacey’s house have, surprised she has room for Jack in her bed #eastenders."
