One of Tennessee’s most wanted men has just been arrested after a four-month manhunt, authorities said.

A Whiteville Police Department investigation found that Cadayreis Myquon Futrell Futrell worked with Tyreco Sharp, Isaiah Allen, and Quindario Nathan, to kill Markuvious Green, who was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting in Hardeman County on September 4 last year. According to reports, Sharp, Allen, and Nathan were all promptly arrested and being held on a $250,000 bond for first-degree murder, but Futrell ran free.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation first issued a wanted alert for Futrell on September 27 last year. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the TBI said he was “wanted by Whiteville Police Department and the TBI for First Degree Murder."

The agency added that Futrell - who at the time was 22 years old - was “ armed and dangerous," before offering a reward of $2,500 for anyone with information which would lead to his arrest. Futrell was described as 6 feet tall with black hair and brown eyes. In another post on X, the TBI said: “UPDATE: #TNMostWanted fugitive Cadayreis Myquon Futrell is now in custody. We are grateful to our partners at @USMSMemphis for their assistance in taking him into custody in Hardeman County.”

Currently on Tennessee’s most wanted list are seven of the state’s most notorious criminals. One of these is Robert Houston Sanders, who is serving an 81-year sentence for kidnapping and armed robbery but has been missing since he escaped from the Tennessee State Prison in April 1990.

Sanders is the “only individual who’s been on the top 10 since we formed it 25 years ago,” a TBI spokesperson said in 2018. “By and large, they are individuals who are considered the most dangerous individuals out there who need to be in law enforcement custody,” the spokesperson reportedly said. “Most times, we’ll put an individual on the top ten and the case will resolve within a day or two. That really for us proves the value.”

There is a $5,000 reward for Sanders - the joint highest prize in the state for a wanted person. Sanders would now be 59 having been born in 1964.

Two other men on TBI’s most wanted list have been there for longer than a decade, one of whom being Jose G. Rocha. Rocha is wanted for criminal homicide after allegedly stabbing a man to death in McMinnville in 2009. It is suspected that he may have fled to Texas or Mexico after he was placed on TBI’s list just one month after the crime.

Obed Cruz-Mena has been on TBI’s list since 2010, in connection with the alleged first-degree murder of his wife in Hendersonville almost 15 years ago. Authorities also believe that Cruz-Mena may have fled to Mexico before police could apprehend him, with his case featured in Investigation Discovery’s “In Pursuit with John Walsh” in 2020.

It is reported that there are 30 escaped convicts from Tennessee that are currently at large. The Tennessee Department of Corrections (TDOC) formerly kept a list of these escaped convicts, but today the webpage does not function.
