Love Island's Ekin-Su dumps Davide as she posts candid statement

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has announced that she's split from Davide Sanclimenti in a statement to their fans on social media, less than two years after the pair won Love Island.

The reality TV star, 29, took to her Instagram Story on Monday afternoon to share with her followers that she had "recently made the decision" to end their relationship. Davide, 29, however has yet to issue his own statement.

Announcing their separation, Ekin-Su wrote: "The last 18 months have been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, just like every relationship. Davide and I both wanted to make this relationship work as we cared deeply for each other."

She continued: "Unfortunately, I have recently made the decision to end our relationship and to go our separate ways. Breakups are never easy for any couple, and we hope that our privacy will be respected at this time. I enjoyed our time together and will cherish the memories we made."

Ekin-Su added: "Thank you for your continued support. It's been so lovely to have you follow our Love Island journeys together since the villa and we hope you'll continue to follow our careers as we go off in our own directions."

The former couple met on the eighth series of Love Island, which aired in 2022. Ekin-Su and Davide were coupled-up for much of the series and had their fair share of drama in the villa. They ended up winning the ITV2 show that year.

They won the public vote against runners-up Gemma Owen and Luca Bish. The two pairs, both of whom are no longer together, reached the final with Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, as well as Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri.

Ekin-Su and Davide remained in a relationship following the final, with the former couple having moved in together just months after leaving the villa. It was however subsequently announced in June last year that the pair had split up.

Davide went on to suggest months later that they "never really broke up". He said: "When we 'split' we were still speaking. To be honest, we never really broke up - we were always keeping in touch." He added that "the break helped both of [them]" be "more understanding of each other".
