The Xbox version of everyone’s new creature-collecting obsession has received a new update this week, here’s what it does.

If you’re a human who has a vague interest in video games, you’ve almost definitely heard of Palworld. Yes, Pocketpair’s spin on the popular Pokemon formula continues to take the world by storm, hence why Xbox and PC players are so hungry for new updates as and when they drop. And they're in luck today, as the (very brief) Palworld patch notes for update v0.1.1.2 have been revealed.

As announced in a tweet from the official @Palworld_EN just yesterday, “version v0.1.1.2 update has been released” for both the Xbox and Microsoft Store PC versions of the game. Interestingly, this means the update won’t apply to Palworld’s highly popular Steam version, which is already multiple updates ahead of the one available on Xbox Series X|S and through the Xbox PC app anyway.

So what does this mighty Palworld version v0.1.1.2 update do? Very little, it turns out. “Fixed some issues which negatively affected game stability,” the post puts it simply. That said, the very brief tweet also made clear Pocketpair’s intention to address problems and glitches pointed out by the community. “We will continue to place top priority on fixing major issues”.

A wonderful Palworld

While the Palworld patch notes for update v0.1.1.2 are incredibly straightforward and basic, it’ll hopefully mean that people playing the Xbox version will have a slightly smoother ride going forward. Better yet, it brings this console iteration closer to the more full-fledged experience being enjoyed by players on Steam. Developer Pocketpair previously explained its frustration at this disparity too, citing “We're really at the mercy of the certification here” (as spotted by Windows Central). In short: Microsoft’s approval process is a lot slower than Valve’s.

I’m sure that both versions will be nearly identical eventually, supporting 32 players per server concurrently and so on. For now, however, all users playing the game through either Xbox or the Microsoft Store PC can hope for is that the future Palworld updates continue to come thick and fast. Until then, there’s plenty to get involved with in-game, such as unlocking an all-important flying mount and discovering which are the best Palworld base locations.
