Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick engaged to Bollywood actress as he shares sweet photos
Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick and his partner Amy Jackson are officially engaged!
The duo met at Silverstone Racetrack in 2021 and have been head over heels for each other ever since. During a ski trip to Switzerland, Ed, 36, decided to get down on one knee and propose to his girlfriend, 31, on a bridge while a huge crowd of people looked on.
Ed and Amy took to Instagram to make a shared post about the engagement and posted a slew of photos from the magical moment. One photo saw Ed get down on one knee as Amy gasped in shock. Another had Amy hugging him from behind as they smiled at the camera.
They also posted a drone snap of them hugging as people cheered them on. The caption read: "Hell YES!" Fans of Ed - who is best known for his role as Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl - were quick to rush to the comment section to joke about the anti-hero fictional character 'settling down'.
"Chuck Bass is officially married with his Blair," one fan wrote while another excited user commented: "Chuck Bass proposed to the love of his life. byee." One follower posted: "Chuck Bass proposing to the actual love of his life in Switzerland [heart emoji]. Congrats you two."
Leonardo DiCaprio's chaotic dating history – Gisele Bundchen to teen Eden PolanIn October 2023, Ed said he pictured a future with Amy and hopes to one day start a family with her. The pair had been living in London but recently moved to the countryside an hour outside of the capital and are renovating a home together. While looking to the future, Ed said he hopes to be able to welcome babies into the new home that he is creating with his fiancée.
Opening up to HELLO! Magazine, Ed said: “Amy and I moved to the countryside, just an hour from central London six months ago and have been busy renovating the house. I grew up nearby and my two brothers live close by. We are surrounded by countryside and I wake up in the morning and walk around and there’s no one but us and my neighbour’s horses. We are very, very happy.”
He was also asked about his marriage plans at the time and if babies were on the cards. He enthusiastically replied: “Yes! One hundred per cent. I grew up in a wonderful household where my mum and dad were married. My parents loved each other fiercely right up to the end. I idolised them and their relationship. Just that kind of support!”
