Mum holds HIV sports coach at gunpoint after 'finding him raping daughter'

A mum has held a HIV-positive sports coach at gunpoint after walking in on the youth coach raping her daughter, prosecutors claim.

The mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had picked up Donovan Scott Sheppard, 39, after he got into a bar fight In Oklahoma on January 13, police say. Sheppard had been living with the mother and 12-year-old daughter at the time. The pair had arrived home while the unnamed youngster was asleep, with the mother heading to bed soon afterwards.

But the unnamed mother was woken up and soon found Sheppard raping her daughter, an affidavit revealed. Police responded to a home call and found the mum holding Sheppard at gunpoint.

Sheppard, a youth baseball coach working for the Oklahoma Aftermath, admitted to police he was HIV-positive and investigators reported in a criminal complaint that a condom was not used in the alleged assault, court documents claimed. The 12-year-old has since told investigators this is not the first act of rape carried out by Sheppard without a condom, Fox News reported, one of which is believed to have fallen on her 12th birthday.

One of the attacks was believed to be on the 12th birthday of the youngster, with police now holding Sheppard on a $500,000 (£393,000) bail. Charges of lewd or indecent proposals or acts to a child, engaging in a pattern of criminal offences, exposing others to AIDS, first degree rape and rape by instrumentation were all levelled at the youth coach.

Further police interviews indicate the youngster said "he raped me" a total of six times, with police also told she had been sexually assaulted by the coach several times in the past. Cleveland County Sheriff's office has since released Sheppard's mugshot and will keep him behind bars until a court appearance. A date for said appearance has not yet been set.

In a seperate incident, a teacher and youth sports coach has been captured in a shocking video lashing out in a fit of road rage that turned into a vulgar homophobic attack.

Juan Ynoa, a New York City public school teacher and youth baseball coach, has found himself at the centre of controversy as a video captures him shouting homophobic slurs and threats during a road rage incident that has gone viral on social media. The incident occurred in Wantagh, New York, approximately 35 miles east of New York City. Ynoa, who works at Flushing High School in Queens and as a coach for the New York Longhorns Baseball youth travel team, now faces reassignment and the removal of his coaching duties pending an investigation by the authorities.
