Former president Donald Trump says he's dropped "15, maybe 20lbs" because he's "too busy to eat", sparking worries about his well-being.

There's been chatter about Trump's weight after he was seen a lot during his campaign. Some thought he might be taking slimming meds like Wegovy or Ozempic, but Trump has said that's not true.

Trump spoke about looking different: "[I did it] the hard way. I work." He also mentioned he's ready for more GOP campaigning.

His quick weight loss has some health pros saying Trump could get confused more often when he's out because of all the legal stuff he's dealing with while trying to be the Republican choice again. Trump told Fox News: "I've been so busy I haven't been able to eat very much. I'm not able to sit down and eat like a person like you - you can sit down and eat. Me, it's a little bit tougher."

Dr Carolyn Williams has revealed that Trump's significant weight loss could be causing other health issues. She told the Daily Mail: "He has lost some weight, particularly in the abdominal area where visceral fat is stored. What's less clear is how healthy his approach is for losing this weight and maintaining it."

"Skipping meals due to scheduling and/or stress isn't a long-term solution. If this is the case, he's likely lacking some key nutrients - ones like fiber, potassium, calcium, and vitamin D - in his diet unless he's focusing on nutrient-dense foods when he does find time for a meal."

Another doctor, Dr Stuart Fischer, suggested that Trump's weight loss could indicate over-exertion. He said: "In a way he's competing with his older self from many years ago. He cannot convince anyone that he's the picture of health and he shouldn't try to convince people he's as fit as he used to be."

However, Dr Daniel Rosen, a medical professional, suggests that the stress of ongoing court trials and charges against Trump are impacting the 77 year old's well-being. He said: "There's also the stress of being indicted on four separate cases on 91 counts. The extreme stress of something like that is worth considering. Stress for some people can lead to weight loss."

This comes as a jury awarded $83.3 million to E. Jean Carroll on Friday in a stinging and expensive rebuke to Trump for his continued social media attacks against the longtime advice columnist over her claims that he sexually assaulted her in a Manhattan department store.

The award, coupled with a $5 million sexual assault and defamation verdict last year from another jury in a case brought by Carroll, raised to $88.3 million what Trump must pay her. Protesting vigorously, he said he would appeal.

Carroll, 80, clutched her lawyers’ hands and smiled as the seven-man, two-woman anonymous jury delivered its verdict. Minutes later, she shared a weepy three-way hug with her attorneys.
