The shocking news that Jurgen Klopp is to stand down from Liverpool at the end of the current season is still reverberating as Reds fans process the German's bombshell announcement.

It's the news that no Liverpool fan wanted to hear however at 3pm today fans will get more clarity surrounding his decision to leave in a special press conference. Klopp has been a massive success since he was appointed in October 2015 and brought Liverpool footballing nirvana as he went on to win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

The German also took Liverpool to two other Champions League finals, where they were beaten by Real Madrid on both occasions. As well as taking Liverpool to their first title in 30 years, his team often rivalled Manchester City for the Premier League in title battles that will go down as some of the most famous the league has ever seen.

A video released by the club today saw Klopp announce his decision. The Red's boss said, ""I have to [say] I will leave the club at the end of the season," Klopp said. "I can understand that it's a shock for a lot of people in this moment when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it or at least try to explain it."

"I love absolutely everything about this club. I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters. I love the team. I love the staff. I love everything.

"That I still take this decision it shows you that I am convinced it's the one I have to take. It is that I am, how can I say this? I am running out of energy and I have no problem now, obviously, I think I know it for already longer that I will have to announce it at one point . But I am absolutely fine now but I also know that I cannot do the job again and again and again.

Liverpool has now announced a press conference that will take place at the club's AXA training centre this afternoon to discuss his choice to depart the club. Klopp and Reds' CEO Billy Hogan, will later take questions from the media from 3pm and If you want to watch the press conference you can do so at LFC TV via their YouTube channel.
