The Traitors' Paul was 'so cross' with Claudia Winkleman minutes into series
The Traitors star Paul Gorton was not happy with host Claudia Winkleman, in the moments before he was picked to be a Traitor.
The show 'villain' confessed he was mistaken over Claudia's actions during filming for the first episode, leading to him being "so crossed". Claudia soon redeemed herself though where Paul is concerned, with her selecting him as a Traitor.
Paul had a good run as one of the three original Traitors, while he managed to boot out two Traitors during the round tables, before he himself fell under suspicion. From tears and careful planning, to throwing his own under the bus, Paul kept the game going until he too fell victim to the banishments.
With two Traitors left on the show, the final will see either them or the three remaining Faithfuls storm to victory and win the cash prize. Discussing their chances, Paul had his say about his time on the show and how thrilled he was to be a Traitor.
Talking about his game plan and why he acted the way he did, he told Good Morning Britain that he wanted to be a 'villain' from the off. But as filming got underway he thought he'd missed out on the chance, leaving him "cross" with host Claudia.
Happy Valley's Clare's death 'confirmed' after tragic final exchange with sisterPaul had not realised that when picking the initial Traitors, Claudia walks around the circular table multiple times before pinching the shoulder of each chosen player. So when she walked past him and he heard her walk off, he was disappointed - only to be pinched moments later.
Discussing filming, which took place last year, he explained to hosts Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins: "I was so cross at the start with Claudia because she does laps. I didn't know this, so I thought when she walked past me and I heard the footsteps go, I'm not gonna be a Traitor.
"I really wanted to be a Traitor. But when she came back again it wasn't a tap, it was a pinch. It was like a proper there you go kind of thing, and it flipped a switch in me, and I just thought you're a Traitor, really go for it."
