Meghan Markle and Prince Harry send Netflix public message before contract ends
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have seemingly sent Netflix a public warning as their contract with the streaming platform nears its end.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020, joined forces with Netflix soon after their shocking departure. They have since created a bombshell docuseries titled Harry & Meghan, as well as the documentary titled Heart of Invictus.
The Sussexes made a rare red carpet appearance earlier this week, which has been viewed as them sending a message to Netflix due to the Bob Marley: One Love's affiliation with Paramount.

On Tuesday (January 23), the Duke and Duchess were seen chatting with Bob Marley's family when they attended the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Kingston, Jamaica. The couple was seen smiling and holding hands on the red carpet, with the loved-up parents looking totally smitten. Although their appearance has since been branded a "calculated" one.

And now Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has spoken of the couple's partnership with Netflix, saying: "They can turn it around if they come up with some work.
"The only thing they are doing as far as I can see with Invictus, Prince Harry already had that," Mr Fitzwilliams said on GB News, adding: "So they have not done anything, they lost Spotify. Will they lose Netflix? The contract runs out in 2025. It is rather bewildering their silence."
Social media users on X have discussed the Sussexes' appearance at a Paramount premiere, with one person writing: "The fact they flew all the way to Jamaica for a Paramount premiere… I don’t think there is any more Netflix."
Someone else added: "Now would be a good time for Netflix to make their announcement." While a third chimed in and said that they were "giving Netflix the middle finger by inserting themselves in a photo with Paramount CEO".
But despite the couple's contract with Netflix reported to expire next year in 2025, Meghan recently teased some "exciting" things that she and her husband have on the slate. In November, Meghan attended Variety magazine's Power of Women gala in Los Angeles.
While posing on the red carpet at the event, Meghan gushed that she and her husband Harry "have so many exciting things on the slate". She also added: "I can't wait until we can announce them, but I'm just really proud of what we're creating."
