Harry Styles 'shaken' after it is alleged stalker caused singer 'serious alarm'
Harry Styles has been left 'shaken' by an alleged stalker who has been charged with causing him serious harm or distress.
Myra Carvalho, 35, is said to have “harassed” the 29-year-old singer on Monday. Sign Of The Times singer Harry is said to have returned home from a romantic getaway to the Caribbean with Canadian actress girlfriend Taylor Russell, 29, when it is claimed he was targeted by Carvalho in London.
A report by The Sun states Carvalho had been staying at a hostel in Earls Court, West London, before approaching the singer. Highbury Corner magistrates’ court heard on Tuesday that Carvalho had: “pursued a course of conduct — namely harassed — which amounted to stalking causing serious alarm or distress”.
Carvalho was told she “knew, or ought to have known, your course of conduct would cause alarm or distress”. She is being remanded in custody and is due to appear at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday 20 February.
The latest incident comes after a transgender woman convicted of stalking in a separate case faced new allegations she posted threats to murder an employee of the popstar, as she wanted him “all to herself”, it was alleged in court. The claims were made during a bail application for Pablo Tarazaga-Orero, a transgender woman, who had been charged with breaching a restraining order against the singer, after being found guilty of stalking in 2019.
Drink-driver steals JCB digger to smash into family house in revenge attackIn March 2022, Wood Green Crown Court heard that Styles had been left “terrified” and worried about the personal safety of himself and his staff, after Tarazaga-Orero, 30, allegedly arrived at the singer's north London home, used violence to force her way inside and pushed a woman working at the address into a wall.
Linda Shamel, for the prosecution, said that the Spanish national, who goes by the name Diana Rachel Bam Mist, was arrested in Styles' back garden on February 16, 2022.
During the hearing, a bail application was made for the defendant, which was opposed by the prosecution, and denied by Judge Rachel Harrison. Ms Shamal alleged that the defendant has breached the restraining not once but “several times”. She said threats had been posted on social media, concerning person who acts as a “buffer” between Styles and the public, on social media.
Ms Shamal alleged Tarazaga-Orero “posted threats to murder, threats to kill, threats to harm this witness because in the defendant’s own perception, this witness is the only thing between Mr Styles and herself.” She said the 30-year-old had used “quite horrific language” and said that once this “witness is removed and killed she would have Mr Styles’ genitalia” and other body parts, as well as “Mr Styles to herself”.
Tarazaga-Orero was charged with breaching a restraining order by “turning up at the victim’s house”, criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, assault by beating and using violence to secure entry to the Brit Award winner’s house.
