Kylian Mbappe is demanding an eye-watering £60million per year and a staggering signing-on bonus worth £107m in order to join Real Madrid, it's been claimed.

With his lucrative contract at Paris Saint-Germain expiring in June, Mbappe is on course to be available via a free transfer - but that's the only bargain part of the deal. The France captain has flirted with a move to Madrid for years but in 2022 famously U-turned on a switch to stay in Paris, swiftly agreeing a new deal which the club advertised to last until 2025.

In actuality, the fixed terms were only until June of this year, as Mbappe needed to sign-off on an extension. Now with a decision on his future set to be made in the coming months, it's emerged that he's asking Real to stump up astronomical amounts. According to German outlet Bild, though, those sums are roughly twice as much as the 14-time European champions are willing to play.

Real have only offered the 25-year-old an annual salary of £30m and want "written guarantees" to avoid another U-turn or last-minute change of demands. Money isn't the only problem for Los Blancos, too, because Mbappe's current employers are still desperate to keep him in the French capital, offering him £86m per season to stay put.

That's despite PSG's decision to axe him from their pre-season tour of Asia last summer, furious with him for not signing the extension. Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi eventually welcomed him back to the squad in September after new manager Luis Enrique lost his first league game and stated: "Kylian Mbappe is an incredible player and fantastic person. And the PSG team, on and off the field, has never been so united."

There's also Liverpool to contend with, as the Premier League title chasers have long held an interest in the World Cup winner. Mbappe will want to have his future resolved by the time France kick-off their Euro 2024 campaign against Austria on June 17.

Not only that, the forward is then expected to represent his country at the upcoming Paris Olympic Games, with the football starting on Wednesday, July 24, just 10 days after the Euros final in Berlin. During an interview with France2 earlier this month, Mbappe declared: "I've always had the 'Olympic flame'.

"Along with the FIFA World Cup, the Olympic Games are the biggest sports event in the world. The Games in Paris, 100 years after [the last time they were held in the city], it would mean the world to me. The idea of competing at the Games with France would be an extraordinary opportunity. It's actually more of a dream than an opportunity."
