Jada Pinkett Smith shared with the world the recent departure of her dog

Jada Pinkett Smith announced that her family's dog, Fang, died.

The actress shared a heartfelt Instagram post, showing off their late pup. In the caption, she wrote: "Last night we lost one of our furry sons Fang. He brought so much love into our family, our animal pack and community. Thank you Fang for 15 years of pure joy. We are going to miss you soooooo much."

Jada posted a photo of herself and Fang exploring the outdoors as she wore a mint green puffer jacket with black pants and bright blue trainers. She added a black beanie as she posed next to her furry friend.

The husky sat next to her with his tongue hanging out as he panted happily. The pair posed against a gorgeous background of greenery complete with rolling hills and mountains. Another picture featured the same background with Jada sitting on the ground next to the dog, her back turned to the camera.

In a colder video, the husky returned to his roots as he traversed through snowy terrain. By his side ran the much smaller Lucco, a rescue pup the family recently took in. Finally, she shared a photo of a sleepy Fang lounging inside on the ground.

Fans felt sympathetically towards the family's loss, flooding the comments with well wishes. One wrote: "He was the SWEETEST!! The most beautiful eyes, and such a loving soul! Love you Fang!"

Friend of the family, Lisa Bilyeu added: "Omg this is heartbreaking!!! Being a doggy mama I know how hard this is! Sending you so much love homie!"

The passing of her pup isn't the only family shifts Jada has gone through recently. A few months ago, Jada began opening up about her split from husband Will Smith as she released her memoir, Worthy. She revealed to the world that while they were still technically married, they spent some time apart.

The pair were even separated when Will jumped up to defend his wife from Chris Rock as the Oscars with a slap. It was in that moment that Jada revisited their marriage and felt more inspired to give it another go, after seeing his strong desire to defend her.
