7 gorgeous items from H&M that you need for your 2024 spring wardrobe
If you're a bit of a shopaholic - like most of us here on The Mirror's fashion and beauty team - there's nothing more exciting than your favourite high street clothing brand bringing out a new collection to kick start the new year and inspire your 'new year, new me' wardrobe. And while I've not been able to get myself to a store yet to give some of those clothes a try, I've been scrolling through H&M's latest drop and can officially say I'm in love with about 90% of it.
With a selection of pieces that are perfect for that winter-spring transition (I can't believe we're already talking about spring!) it's a bit of a neutral lover's dream. While there are some gorgeous pops of colour (your sky blues - big trend incoming - limes and pinks), there's a large proportion of black, beige, white, cream, grey, brown etc colourways used - and I'm not mad about it. Also making a statement this 2024 - and valiant return too - is stripes. A whole lotta stripes. From shirts to jumpers to dresses to trousers and co-ord sets.
H&M's new drop also cements the trends predicted for this year's spring summer season based on SS24 fashion showcases from designers like Christian Dior, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Fendi, Loewe, Burberry... and so many more.

H&M's key looks for 2024
Think styles that exude business-casual wear, sheer white ensembles that 2024 brides need for their hen/honeymoon, high rise trousers (as a millennial, I breathe a sigh of relief that low rise trousers, which have remained constant on trend reports for some years now, are seeking a retreat), florally-inspired pieces - more specifically roses (hush, I can hear your Miranda Priestly 'groundbreaking' snuff), a preppy look Blair Waldorf would be proud of. Even post Christmas metallics are continuing their moment while textured items that look more like works of art than something to be shoved in a wardrobe are rather popular. When it comes to colours, too, sky blue is one we're looking out for this spring. Also, while it's not a new trend, 90s fashion is having a resurgence; your boyfriend-style jeans, white shirts, oversized polos, grey tailoring and waistcoats are here to stay. Picture the Monica Gellar and Rachel Green wardrobe vibe. And that's just a handful.

And with that in mind, I've run through the new H&M collection and have selected six of my favourite pieces that I believe deserve a spot in your wardrobe this year - especially if you're considering building yourself a timeless capsule wardrobe.
Sheer Rose-Appliqué Blouse
Everything will be coming up roses with this shirt!With roses being a big part of spring 2024 style, we had to include this gorgeous rose-applique blouse that looks so ethereal, chic, and just gorgeous. The flouncy mock neck is as much of a statement as the rose on the dropped shoulder. Plus, its voluminous raglan sleeves with buttoned cuffs are so dramatic it would add an edge to any ensemble without the need for big and bold accessories. The pastel lilac colour is gorgeous coming into the spring and the sheer material is great for those warmer days.
Although this blouse is a tad on the pricey side at £135, it is perfect for parties or office days when you want to look put together but a bit more interesting.

Short twill pea coat
This light denim style jacket is so cool for SpringThis denim jacket is a gorgeous piece for your winter-spring wardrobe because its relaxed fit means you can fit a cosy jumper underneath without it looking too bulky or it can be worn simply with a t-shirt without looking far too big. It's a great coat to have if you're not so fond of the classic denim jacket styles as it has notch lapels, double-breasted buttons, and super classy long raglan sleeves that gives the coat a bit of a luxury feel.

Striped knitted cardigan
It's giving cosy Chanel vibesWe've all been pretty obsessed with Marks & Spencer's Chanel-esque textured wool cardis and now H&M has brought out a striped version that looks way more expensive than its £44.99. The gold buttons give the cardigan, which is made from 75% recycled polyster, a designer look being positioned on the front and the cuffs. The soft knit features a rounded neckline and black edging that just looks so chic.
What's great about this cardi is that it can easily be dressed up with some black wide leg trousers for work or with a pair of bootcut jeans and trainers for a more casual vibe. It's versatility is endless! It's also got a gorgeous beige and cream version. Although if you're after something with a bit more colour, River Island has a red striped version for £45.

Pinstripe oversized cotton shirt
We love a shirt that looks both stylish and office appropriateOkay, continuing on the theme of the work wear, this oversized cotton shirt - that comes in three different styles, two of which are pinstripe - is a really nice piece to help make your office wardrobe a little more stylish. Coming in sky blue pinstripe, regular blue and cream and black stripe colourways, the shirt has a soft cotton weave and a double-layered yoke with pleats at the back - a pretty standard feature for a shirt. But what's lovely about this shirt is its dropped shoulders, that give off a more relaxed vibe, whilst the long, wide-cuff sleeves adds a dimension of luxury.

This top is perfect for both parties and coffee datesWith silver being here to stay, I fell in love with this boatneck top when I saw it on the website. Usually, when a garment is silver, it's a bit of a party statement piece and the star of any outfit. But at £19, the top's rib-knit design makes it the perfect combination of casual and snazzy. Made from recycled elastane and viscose it's got a nice stretch to it to ensure maximum comfort. The boat neckline is super flattering and makes for the perfect t-shirt to layer under a necklace.
Coming in a really nice light silver coating, it's a great way to brighten up an outfit - whether that's with a satin skirt for your best mate's 30th or a pair of Levi's for coffee.

Tapered High Rise Jeans
These jeans will give you that perfect 90s lookHigh rise jeans are back for 2024 - as confirmed by Who What Wear - and we are so here for this 90s-inspired shape to return. If you're a fan of the Levi 501s shape but can't quite justify spending the standard £100 on them (although they're currently half price on Levi's in their January sale), these £24.99 tapered jeans from H&M could be the next best thing.
Coming in sizes 4-22, the jeans mom-esque jeans are slightly stretchy, which is great for comfort, and come with a high waistband in both denim blue and dark denim blue. A staple for any and every wardrobe.

Cream rib knit dress
It's got 'viral dress' written all over itIt seems the viral rib-knit dress from H&M is more or less back this season - but it's £10 cheaper at £24.99. With a similar flared mini shape and trumpet sleeves, it's such a cute dress that can take you from warm winter woolies, with tights, boots and scarfs, to bare legs, trainers and a denim jacket.
It's got a gorgeous narrowly ribbed high neck and while it's made with woollen cosy material, it flatters your figure with a fitted bodice. Plus - we can bet you that anyone and everyone will look good in this dress, just like its viral sister from last autumn.
