Deadline day is slowly but surely coming into view for Arsenal and the Gunners are yet to really do any major business.

Coming into the January transfer window, the North London side were linked with a host of strikers, with Mikel Arteta desperate to keep up his side’s fight for the Premier League crown. Away from incomings, a host of stars have also been touted for exits from the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta has already dropped hints over what could await his side over the next few days. With all of that being said, take a look at all of the major rumours and news coming out of Arsenal over the past 24 hours:

AC Milan eye late Kiwior swoop

Italian giants AC Milan are reportedly still interested in a move for Arsenal star Jakub Kiwior as they attempt to add a defender late in the transfer window. The Italian giants have previously been linked with a move for the Polish centre-back.

According to Sky Italia, Milan are prioritising a move for Clement Lenglet. The Frenchman is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Barcelona so a deal would be tricky to complete.

Should they be unable to get a move over the line, they have Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah and Kiwior as alternatives. The latter, 23, has made nine appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal this term - the latest coming in a brief cameo in the win against Crystal Palace.

West Ham to break record for Boniface

One of Arsenal’s long-term targets, Victor Boniface, looks set to complete a move to the Premier League but not to the Emirates Stadium. Instead, West Ham look set to move for his services.

According to The Sun, the Hammers are willing to break their transfer record for the striker. It is detailed that West Ham technical director Tim Steidten is spearheading a move and is keen to secure an agreement before the end of the transfer window.

Boniface, 23, has scored 16 goals in 23 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this season. He was previously linked with a move to Arsenal and admitted that he was a boyhood Gunners supporter.

Wright “surprised” by Arteta

Arsenal icon Ian Wright has admitted that he was “surprised” that Mikel Arteta decided to bench Gabriel Martinelli after his two-goal cameo against Crystal Palace.

Speaking to Premier League Productions, he said: “When you get someone like Gabriel Martinelli in that much space, the line was so high, I was very surprised he didn’t start.

“I’m quite pleased he came on and made the impact he did. [His first goal is] a very good finish. Very accurate. Brilliant, superb. [With the second goal] Palace are all over the place, the midfield is nowhere near it, look at how much space he has got.

“Can he finish? Yeah, he can. You’ve got to take advantage when teams are playing poorly like Palace were. You can really punish these teams.”
