Missing Levi Davis may have been kidnapped by gangsters in Spain, family fears
A missing X Factor star who disappeared in Barcelona three months ago may have been snatched by London gangsters, his family fear.
Levi Davis, also a former Bath rugby player, unexpectedly left a friend in Ibiza on October 29 last year before travelling to the Catalan city alone.
As first reported by the Mirror, he was spotted on CCTV outside an Irish bar later the same day.
However, a private detective working on the case on behalf of the 24-year-old's loved ones said he may have been kidnapped in a dispute over money.
Mum Julie Davis said police searching for her son in Catalonia have been notified of the potential breakthrough and are treating the tip-off seriously.
Nicola Bulley's children 'cried their eyes out' after being told 'mummy's lost'It is understood the case remains a missing person enquiry at this stage.
Julie said the PI - Gavin Burrows - received an anonymous tip several days ago, claiming Levi had got into a dispute with criminals two years ago.
He was playing for Ealing Trailfinders at the time.
She told MailOnline: "We desperately need to know more because this could change the whole nature of the investigation.
"The anonymous tip was given to private investigators who are helping police look for Levi.
"The person was very cagey and revealed very little details other than to say that 'persons in the UK are involved in Levi's disappearance' and that it stems from a falling out he apparently had with a gang in London when he played rugby there."
Julie added that she was aware of "some difficulties" Levi had with some people who turned up at his Ealing flat in 2020.
She said she needs the anonymous tipster and others with information to get in touch.
Mr Burrows said he had received multiple pieces of information that Levi's disappearance "is not voluntary".
He was last seen leaving the Old Irish Pub on Barcelona's La Rambla, where he had been drinking a pint and watching football at 10.05pm.
Mum appeared 'completely normal' moments before vanishing while walking dogHe walked to the Hard Rock Cafe nearby but his whereabouts after that are unclear.
Police said he has not used his phone or either of his two bank accounts since he went missing.
Levi's passport was also found in November.
He had arrived at a ferry port in Barcelona at around 7pm following an eight-hour crossing from Ibiza.
CCTV shows him leaving the pub while carrying a small black rucksack and wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt, black trousers and white trainers.
Levi’s family have set up a GoFundMe page to appeal for donations to help continue the search.
