In a puzzling speech at a campaign event, Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner, told his supporters that he's being targeted by 'Democrats, communists, Marxists, and fascists' in New York.

Trump declared to his cheering fans: "I'm being indicted for you," as he faces four lawsuits in different states, expressing pride over his legal troubles.

"I consider it a great badge of honour because I'm being indicted for you. Our enemies want to take away my freedom, because I'll never let them take away your freedom... and in the end they're not after my freedom, they're after your freedom," Trump rambled, trying to rally support for his claim that all his legal issues are 'witch hunts.'

This morning, Trump used Truth Social to remind people about a "BIG RALLY TONIGHT IN NEW HAMPSHIRE." Trump has been leading consistently in the polls, with Haley, a former South Carolina governor, appearing to be his strongest competitor.

Trump also tweeted: "Nikki 'Birdbrain' Haley is losing BIG in the polls against Crooked Joe. I am beating him all over the place. She is WEAK ON THE BORDER, I AM THE STRONGEST BORDER PRESIDENT, EVER. That's all you have to know!!!"

After Monday's Iowa caucuses, which Trump won by a significant margin over Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley has been trying to frame the GOP primary battle as a contest between herself and Trump, despite her third-place finish.

Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina has endorsed Donald Trump for the upcoming New Hampshire primary, indicating that the Republican party is uniting behind the former president following his victory in Iowa.

This endorsement is a major setback for Nikki Haley, the former U.N. ambassador who is relying on a good performance in New Hampshire to keep her presidential ambitions alive.

Haley's campaign is hoping for a better result in New Hampshire, which could provide momentum going into her home state South Carolina's primary next month, the first in the South.

Meanwhile, Trump alternates between claiming that the nomination race is effectively over and criticising Haley as if they are indeed in a close competition.

Donald Trump has taken to social media to mock Nikki Haley's birth name, in what is seen as the latest example of him using race and ethnicity to attack his political rivals. In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump referred to Haley, whose parents are from India, as "Nimbra."

Haley, who was born in South Carolina as Nimarata Nikki Randhawa, had always used her middle name, "Nikki," and took the surname "Haley" when she got married in 1996.

Trump, who himself has immigrant family members, called Haley "Nimbra" three times in his post and said she "doesn't have what it takes" as their feud becomes increasingly personal. This led Haley to respond to Trump's insults by calling him "insecure."
