A stunned dad said he won a huge cut of a £1million prize after hearing a spooky sign on the radio.

Tony Frater, 69, from Staplehurst , Kent, said there were strange signs to suggest he and his wife, Sharon, would land a huge win in the days leading up to the windfall.

Tony, a retired engineer, said: "The weirdest thing was that Abba's song 'Money, Money, Money' came on the radio this morning and I said, 'That's an omen!' Before that, five short power cuts had the wireless doorbell ringing out every time the power came back on - but nobody was at the door."

The couple are now in dreamland after winning £166,666, when the People's Postcode Lottery prize was divided between them and five others in their street - one of which was their own daughter.

Tony and Sharon - who were also born in the village - have lived at their current address for over 30 years where they raised their two children Kelly and Marcus.

After having kids of her own, hairdresser Kelly moved back to Staplehurst with her husband Jason and by chance bought a house on Marian Square - a few doors away from her mum and dad. Meaning she too bagged a huge £166,666. The family is now planning a big holiday to celebrate Tony's 70th birthday later this year. Sharon said, "We can take the whole family away for Tony's birthday. It's his treat but he'll be paying."

Kelly said, "You dream of winning the lottery but to win it with my parents - it's just incredible. It's going to take forever to sink in." After scooping her windfall, Kelly was offered the chance to present her parents with their prize.

Tony, who lives a few doors down from his daughter, said he couldn't believe his eyes after seeing Kelly standing at his door holding a golden envelope. He said: "It's just blown us away." Mum-of-two Kelly said, "I was still shaking and then to be a part of it for them - and to see their faces - it was so special."

Grandad-of-four Tony added, "We're both retired, and we'll be able to do things without worrying about anything. The security is the biggest thing."
