Amanda Abbington's fiancé speaks about toxic male behaviour amid Giovanni feud
Amanda Abbington's fiancé Jonathan Goodwin has broken his silence on social media amid the actress' bitter feud with her former Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice.
The 51-year-old Sherlock star had been paired with the Italian dancer in the competition before she quit the show in October. The pair were reportedly having trouble seeing eye to eye during dance rehearsals, with Amanda complaining over Giovanni's 'militant and aggressive training style.
After suddenly leaving the competition, the outspoken TV actress reportedly claimed her time on the BBC series left her 'broken and saddened' and has since revealed that she has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

He shared a clip of pop singer Taylor Swift speaking about being females silently absorbing their male partner's behaviour and simply wrote "This" in the caption of the video.
The 34-year-old Shake it Off hitmaker says: "The most rage provoking of being a female is the gaslighting that happens when you know for centuries we've just been expected to absorb male behaviour silently right? Silent absorption of whatever any guy decides to do and often times when in our enlightened state and our emboldened state we now respond to bad male behaviour, or somebody just doing something that was out of line and we respond, that response is treated like the offence itself. You know there have been situations recently with somebody who is vey guilty of this in my life and it is a person who tries to make me feel like the offender by having any kind of defence."

It comes after Amanda sought legal advice over the dancer's alleged behaviour towards her and believes video footage could 'back up' her claims. The BBC has since issued a statement over the complaint, and revealed they are taking it 'incredibly seriously.' A statement read: "The BBC offers a comprehensive range of support to all individuals taking part in our shows. Strictly Come Dancing has always taken duty of care incredibly seriously and there is a constant dialogue between senior members of the production team and the contestants to ensure any concerns are addressed swiftly.
The spokesperson continued: "Strictly has a proud track record as a joyful, positive experience where robust support and assistance is always made available at every stage of the production." According to reports, the BBC has received a request for the footage as a data subject request: "There is a feeling that the recordings will lift the lid on what really goes on behind the scenes on Strictly. Things in rehearsals can become very tense." They added that Giovanni could be "incredibly full-on" as he is a "perfectionist."
