Liverpool are set to return to Premier League action this weekend for the first time since New Year's Day when they face Bournemouth on Sunday.

Since their 4-2 win over Newcastle on January 1, Liverpool have won two cup games against Arsenal and Fulham before enjoying a winter break. And the break came at an opportune time for Jurgen Klopp's side, with the Reds missing a host of star names.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, come into the game on the back of a defeat by Tottenham in the Premier League, although the Cherries did knock Queens Park Rangers out of the FA Cup last time out.

However, they will still be without nine players for various reasons on Sunday and Mirror Football has rounded up all the latest team news ahead of the trip to Bournemouth.

Mohamed Salah

Salah is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt and could miss several games if they reach the final on February 11. The forward has also suffered an injury scare as Egyot drew 2-2 with Ghana on Thursday when he was forced off with an apparent hamstring issue.

However, it is unknown how serious the injury could be, with Klopp stating: "We don't know anything. I spoke last night with him and how it is with these injuries, you need further assessment. That's what they are doing now and then we will know more. Of course, it was in that moment a shock: 'Oh my God, what is it?'

"You couldn't see that it was like [being] hit by something with high-intensity, you couldn't see [that] and then going down, you have these kind of hamstring injuries in a different way but he still felt it and we all know how rarely Mo goes off or needs to go off so there is definitely something and we will see. But I have no more information right now."

Trent Alexander-Arnold

The full-back has been out of action since suffering a knee injury in Liverpool's FA Cup win over Arsenal earlier this month, but Klopp has revealed he is "close" to returning. However, he has confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will not be back in time for Sunday's trip to Bournemouth.

Andrew Robertson

Klopp has also confirmed that Robertson is "close" to returning, having been out of action since October when he picked up a shoulder injury while playing for Scotland. However, like Alexander-Arnold, Robertson will not be in the squad to face Bournemouth.

Dominik Szoboszlai

The midfielder is also "close" to making his return from a hamstring injury and, while reports were claiming he could feature against Bournemouth after he returned to training, Klopp has admitted such a return is not on the cards.

Wataru Endo

The Japan international is currently away at the Asian Cup and, depending on how his team fares, he could miss several key games if they reach the final on February 10.

Thiago Alcantara

Thiago has not played a single game so far this season since having surgery on a hip problem, but assistant manager Pep Lijnders said earlier this month that the midfielder should be back in action next month provided there are no further complications.

Joel Matip

The experienced centre-back suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the game against Fulham last month and could be out for the remainder of the season. Matip recently had surgery, but the club have yet to put a timescale on his return.

Kostas Tsimikas

While deputising at left-back for Robertson, Tsimikas broke his collarbone in the game against Arsenal last month. Klopp said at the time he would be out for a "long time", but Tsimikas could return to action as soon as next month having posted an image of him training on Instagram with the caption: "Not long now !"

Stefan Bajcetic

The teenager could also be back in action as soon as next month, having been sidelined for much of the campaign with a calf issue, with Lijnders saying earlier this month: "It will probably be going into the next month to train with us."
