Spurs are in talks to sign Antonio Nusa

Tottenham are in talks to sign Club Brugge's 18-year-old attacker Antonio Nusa.

Spurs would like to tie up a deal this month before sending the highly-rated forward back to Belgium on loan until the end of the season. Daniel Levy and Co want to move quickly for the Norwegian as he has previously been the subject of strong interest from Chelsea among others.

The Blues saw a £23million bid rejected by Club Brugge on transfer deadline day in the summer but they are yet to return to the table and they're now thought to have cooled their interest.

Brentford, too, have been looking at Nusa, who has been scouted by Arsenal, and Spurs are believed to be willing to pay a fee worth in the region of £25m to secure his signature.

Ideally, Nusa favours staying at Club Brugge until at least the end of the season and thankfully, Tottenham are satisfied with that element of any deal because they cannot currently offer him regular minutes in north London.

Meanwhile, another Spurs exit is also gathering pace following the sale of Eric Dier to Bayern Munich. Ivan Perisic is expected to undergo a medical with Hajduk Split this weekend as he looks to seal an emotional return to Croatia.

Perisic has only featured six times for Spurs this season after suffering a cruciate ligament tear back in September. He is not due to return to action until April but is still targeting a place in Croatia's squad for the European Championships.

Spurs are now finalising the details of Perisic's transfer and they now look set to save some money on the 34-year-old's wages between now and June.

Sources in Croatia suggest Perisic could be formally unveiled as a Hajduk Split player by Monday but there are still minor details to resolve between all parties. The option that has been mooted to Mirror Football is that the former Inter Milan winger will just Hajduk on an initial loan with the option to sign a one-year deal at the end of the season when he will become a free agent.

A second source has suggested Tottenham are in talks to mutually terminate Perisic's deal early by agreeing a pay-off for the versatile veteran attacker.

Earlier this week, Japhet Tanganga returned from his underwhelming loan spell with Augsburg before joining Millwall on loan until the end of the season. The defender did not feature in Germany during the first half of the season.

Ange Postecoglou is still thought to be open to the prospect of strengthening his midfield options with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg among those that could be allowed to leave if a replacement is signed. Napoli are the latest club to show interest in the Dane.

Ryan Taylor
