We've found a deal for a brand new SUV you can own for less than £100 per month

The current Dacia Duster is something of a legend among motoring journalists because it's practical, fun to drive and superb value for money. It's just such an accessible car for families on a budget.

It's also due a replacement this year, which might explain why Dacia's dealers are pushing out a really decent special offer, contributing up to £750 towards your finance deposit, with a tempting interest rate of 4.9%.

Crunching the numbers, that means if you can scrape together a fairly generous deposit, you could be driving a brand new family car on a two-year deal for just £98 per month.

It's not as if you've got to cope with a basic spec, either. Your £98 per month will get you a "Journey" model, which has a trick camera setup, keyless entry, cruise control, 17" alloy wheels and an 8" touch-screen infotainment system.

If you want a fancy colour, or any of Dacia's original accessories, you might need to budget for a few more quid, but as it starts at less than £100 per month, there might be wiggle room in your budget.

There are some catches to watch out for, as with any finance deal. The customer deposit you'll need to put down on a Journey TCe 4x2 is £4,949, and the deal is based on a maximum annual mileage of 6,000. For the full run-down of the offer, visit Dacia's websit e, or speak to your nearest dealer.

To find out just how tempting this offer really is, we hunted around the new car deals online, and we did find a few sub-£100 bargains, including this very tempting brand new Vauxhall Corsa GS on Auto Trader for £84 per month. But the Duster is a very different car.

So we also looked up a finance deal for a close rival to the Duster, the Suzuki Vitara. In similarly-priced "Go" spec, the Vitara, on a comparable deal, would cost £203 per month.

A Fiat Panda might also be an alternative, if you can cope with a smaller car, because Fiat is also offering a £750 dealer contribution, but the interest rate is far less favourable at 9.9% APR, so even a basic Panda will land you with bigger monthly payments.
