Jeremy Kyle star dies 'peacefully in sleep' as daughter shares heartache
A former The Jeremy Kyle Show star has died in her sleep.
Audrey Chawner who appeared on a string of programmes including The Jeremy Kyle Show in 2015, The Chawner's Last Chance and Lorraine Kelly's Big Fat Challenge in 2010, died earlier this week, just days before the death of the family dog. Her daughter, Emma - who also appeared on The X Factor - confirmed the devastating news on social media and shared a fundraising link to help in covering funeral costs. She was 73 at the time of her death.
She also appeared on Nightmare Neighbours back in 2016, having racked up over 500 complaints from their neighbours in Manchester. Taking to Instagram, her daughter Emma shared a snap of her mum as she confirmed the heartbreaking news.
Emma wrote: "I'm just letting you all know my mum passed peacefully in her sleep at 4am this morning." Her upload was soon flooded with messages of support as one follower penned: "I am so sorry Emma to you and your family! My condolences to you and your family! Much love to you and your family! Nothing can ever take away your pain! In times like this I cling to Jesus. Who has our loved ones all taken care of. In a perfect world with perfect health. They await us! Reach out if there is anything I can do, but remember Jesus is always there! Love you beautiful Emma!"
A second added: "Thoughts and prayers to you and the entire Chawner family. Been a big fan of your family for a long time… X Factor, Jeremy Kyle, Lorraine Kelly. Such an entertaining and closely connected family. Rest in power Audrey, you'll be greatly missed." Another person said: "So sorry for your loss Emma. Thoughts are with you and your family. Losing your mum is the hardest cross to bear. RIP Audrey."
X Factor's Honey G spills on strict fitness regime after two stone weight lossMeanwhile, a fourth typed: "So sorry for your loss!!! I fell in love with your mom when she went to war with Simon Cowell for you! That's a mama's love! I can relate. May she rest in peace and you take comfort in all your precious memories!" Audrey argued with the former X Factor judge when Emma auditioned for the programme. Following her performance, Simon branded her a "flump" and she was sent home.
Years later, she returned with her sister, Sam, when the judges branded the siblings "The Teletubbies". In a heartbreaking admission, Emma has revealed her final wish to her mum. Speaking to The Sun, she said: "She was a lovely lady - loved her TV programmes, loved her animals and loved a good laugh.
"Her favourite TV programmes were Emmerdale and EastEnders. My dog also passed on Tuesday at 11am, and mum died on Monday. I said that night 'Mum if you can hear me take Ruby with you'." She has since set up a GoFundMe to help her, her sister and their dad cover the costs for Audrey's funeral.
"It's really hard for me and my dad to pay for it and I really want my mum to have a good send off any amount of money would be greatly appreciated thank you all so much," she wrote.
