Egypt and Ghana will be looking to make their mark in this year's Africa Cup of Nations after both enduring tough opening games.

Ghana were defeated in their first game after a 92nd-minute winner from Garry Rodrigues gave Cape Verde a shock win over the Black Stars which came after Alexander Djiku cancelled out Jamiro Monteiro’s opener. Liverpool star Mo Salah salvaged a point for Egypt in their first game with a 97th-minute penalty after unfancied Group B side Mozambique went 2-1 ahead.

Egypt gained the lead after 89 seconds with a strike from Mostafa Mohamed, however two second-half goals from Mozambique almost saw one of the biggest upsets in AFCON history. Egypt were facing a truly momentous defeat until a VAR intervention resulted in a foul on Mohammad which allowed Salah to bury the spot kick and earn his team a 2-2 draw.

The match will take place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan and with both teams facing the pressure it's going to be one to watch. Here's all you need to know about the heavyweight clash.
